Can this infuser be used on a TRU-IR grill?

It's not giving me as a recommended accessory for the IR-type grills, instead it's an accessory only on traditional LP grills.

Can the infuser cooker be used on a Charcoal grill or is it only for a Gas grill?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As juicy as it gets I cooked a 5 pound chicken in the infuser with root beer on the bottom. I sprayed the whole thing with cooking spray to avoid sticking. I grilled on a propane grill for about an hour and a half around 275 degrees with low heat under and around the infuser. I took the lid off the last 15 minutes to give the skin a crisp. It turned out great. The meat was juicy and and cooked evenly. I am looking forward to trying other cuts of meat in it. Cleaned up easily

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I Smoked a Nice Brisket With This I smoked a beef brisket on my gas grill with Char-Broil Grill Infuser. It came out fantastic. •Here are some things I ran into while smoking You have to start off the first 20 minutes on high which is different from traditional smoking. I had a little difficulty getting my grill down to the 225 temp that was required. I was nervous that my brisket was going to be over done but it came out awesome. I will be using this again maybe for some ribs. •Nice things about the infuser The basket was big I fit a 2lb brisket inside There is also a grate that can allow more room if needed It fits nicely in the dishwasher and washes up nice In case you are interested I used the Char-Broil mesquite chips to smoke with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grill Infuser We have been looking for a nice streamer for the grill. So far we made a pork roast with mojo as our liquid base. Preheated the grill for 15 minutes on hi. Placed the infuser on the grill for about 90 minutes, till the meat was at 160 degree’s. The pork came out nice and juicy. Looking forward to streaming some shrimp and veggie. One thing I did notice is the enamel finish is very poorly made….after washing most of the finish came off after the first time using it……..I made sure I sprayed the inside of the pan good, but starting to show signs of rust

I was concerned that this infuser was just a gimmick, however on my first use it produced the most evenly cooked, juiciest burgers I’ve ever had in my life…almost too juicy - when my wife bit into her burger the juice shot across the table. I infused the burgers with beer, which probably wasn’t the best test with ground beef as I couldn’t taste the beer flavor in the meat. I think a stronger flavor on a blander meat would be ideal – such as teriyaki on chicken. But based on the moistness of the burgers I know the infuser definitely did its job. At first, I was annoyed that there wasn’t a handle on the lid. I think my jaw actually dropped as I was standing in front of the grill when I realized it. The result of this was me having to put down whatever I was holding, put oven mitts on both hands, take the lid off and put it down somewhere, take my oven mitts off, check/flip the meat with the spatula, put the spatula down, put the oven mitts back on, and put the lid back on the infuser. HOWEVER, I then realized the slits in the top of the lid don’t just serve as ventilation, they’re big enough that you can put a spatula in them to lift the lid off without the use of any oven mitts…what a lifesaver. I still think a little handle would be useful at times, though. My only minor complaint is the infuser is just a bit small. I put two 1/3lb patties in the infuser and there really wasn’t much room to spare. You’d only be able to comfortably fit four patties if you make small burgers (under 1/4lb). I haven’t tried it with chicken yet, but I estimate it would only fit 3 chicken breasts. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the infuser and I look forward to a summer full of flavor-infused meats.

I am very pleased with the Char-Broil Grill Infuser which allows me to cook almost anything on my Bar B Que grill in a simple, yet separate enclosure. I've enjoyed the versatility of the infuser-cooker when cooking meats--like beef roast or pork loin or vegetables--like potatoes, broccoli, corn, onions or mushrooms. The best feature is the ability to prepare the food completely in the kitchen or on the bar, then, simply, insert the cooker into the preheated grill. The finished food can then be, easily moved from the Bar B Que to a work area where it can be dressed for serving. The slots in the top and handles on the ends allow the infuser to be transported with oven mittens or a kitchen spatula. The infuser-cooker can also be used in a conventional oven for indoor cooking. I really enjoy using the Char-Broil Grill Infuser in my cooking routine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great BBQ Roaster I'm always doubtful about BBQ gadgets so I wasn't expecting much from this one. It's not that big, but I was just able to squeeze in a 5 pound whole chicken. I stuffed it with onions and salt and pepper. I stuck it in the basket and covered. I put the whole thing in a hot BBQ at 500F. I lowered heat after about 15 minutes. No need to baste because of the lid, though maybe I'd take the lid off in the end to crisp the skin a bit. After about an hour and a half it was ready. It did get a little stuck in the basket so I'd use oil to help get it out. The chicken cooked perfectly with plenty of juice on the bottom of the pan. It was a tasty chicken. Cleanup was easy with hot water and soap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenience of a smoker without buying a big smoker Great BBQ accessory to have if you love smoked flavor and reluctant to invest in a full sized smoker. Too bad it is not recommended to use it in a regular oven. We used the infuser cooker on the Super Bowl day to make some Chicken wings and it worked really well. I simply added frozen chicken wings in the infuser for about 30 -40 minutes. Took them out and mixed the hot wings sauce and let cook for another 30 minutes. Got excellent flavorful well cooked wings. Next tested it out with salmon and got perfectly smoked Salmon. I love the infuser. It is convenient and does a great job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smoked Meats Made Easy! I used this to cook a pork butt on the grill with some Apple wood chips and an apple juice marinade. The meat was flavorful and moist, and is good for getting a smoked flavor on a gas grill, which can be a drawback for gas grills. You can basically use your favorite ingredients to get the flavor you want in your food, and it's always fun to experiment with different recipes. It has a grate that you can use, or a basket to keep the meat off the bottom of the pan where your liquid or wood chips go. The basket has holes in it for the flavor to infuse the meat as it cooks. One thing that I thought would be an excellent use for this is that it would be perfect for cooking smoked baked beans if it had a solid basket, with the holes around the outside still to infuse your baked beans with smoke flavor. My remedy for that was that I lined the basket with heavy duty foil to hold the beans, and poked holes through the foil around the outer edge, and used it to smoke baked beans that way. I put some wood chips in the bottom of the pan, and added a little water to the bottom of the pan. They came out excellent with a nice smoky flavor. It would also be good for cooking vegetables, shrimp, and fish. I plan on using this a lot this summer. The cooking chamber is big enough for a small roast or a whole chicken. The cleanup was easy, with an enamel finish, and you can wash it in the dishwasher. Definitely recommend!
