Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by FlopEye Decent grill for the money. Not exceptional, but decent.
I purchased one of these grills two years ago. As far as the burners, the grill still heats and cooks fine. The stainless plates that prevent flare-ups began to rust badly after about one year and now all four have large holes burnt through them so now it is basically just another propane grill. This is not a true infra-red grill. Look on line and do some research for true infra-red grills and you will see they cost many times more than one of these units. This is a decent grill for the money and about in the same price range as any economical grill will cost. Just don't purchase one thinking you will be getting a grill that will last any longer than any other inexpensive grill. Still worth the purchase price as long as you know what to expect.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 So far...Great grill for the money
This grill is super hot yet as advertised, does not burn your food. I was skeptical of the "Tru Infra Red" pitch but went ahead and bought it anyway. Wow it has taken some practice but I am now a believer. sears beautifully; locks in juices and reduces flare ups. Tomorrow I will grill some fish and I hope I can convince my wife to let me "do breakfast". Love my new Char-Broil

After 1 summer of grilling all the metal plates have completely rusted! Very disappointed that the plates are over $100 to replace. I would never buy this brand again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GungHoGriller Good but could use improvement
I have owned this grill now for a couple months and it is a good unit. My last grill was not infrared so not having direct heat is slower. What I also found is that it does make the meat much juicier and that makes it worth the wait. I also believe that this will make the burners last longer as they will not have any dripping happening directly onto the burner. One thing was quite noticeable from my old grill is that the grill itself was very sticky, much more so than my old grill. Also the squiggle design in the middle of each piece (3 of them) makes for less than easy cleaning. This was disappointing and I think that I will be swapping these out for a better set soon.
My old grill had a place to put utensils this one does not. I also rarely use the top bun warming grill and so I take it out. A clip or two inside the tank bin would be a nice place to store this and also the side burner grill. I hope Char Broil is listening.
Overall this is a nice unit, I thought the price was a bit high but home depot has a one month price guarantee and sure enough it went on sale a few weeks after I bought it so I went back and they refunded the difference no questions asked. Makes me want to come back.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tpmiko Cooks Fast
As being advanced grill person and cooking at least everyday rain, snow or shine. Infrared grills are awesome to grill on they cook your food steaks, burgers, chicken in less time as the standard gas grill; they use less gas even. The con about this grill with the porcelain grates they are a BEAR to clean. I know Char-broil states to buy the nylon grill brush and biodegradable cleaner which just does not work. It may loosen some of the baked on foods but doesn't give outstanding satisfaction. I love grilling on my Char-Broil grill but the only thing I hate is the clean up cleaning them porcelain grates. It takes more time to clean the grates than to grill itself.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CWIN We love this grill!!
This grill is great. The infrared works as promised. The grill will literally heat up to the 750-800 degree range...turn your steaks 180 degrees twice and they look and taste better than your local steakhouse.
Note to DIYers: DO NOT TAKE THIS HOME WITHOUT LETTING HOME DEPOT ASSEMBLE IT FOR YOU!!
I requested it to stay in the box so that it would fit in my SUV...bad idea...took me 3 hours to assemble. #rookie

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by grillman16 Great company but grilling experience not good
I have owned 3 Charbroil grills over the years so I decided to buy the new infrared system. I have owned this grill for over a year now and I like to grill 2-3 times a week, winter and summer. The grill has a nice shell and love the roller casters for easy moving. But like other reviewers have said the cleanup is too much. Keeping it clean for your next cookout takes a lot more work than normal grates.
I am looking to find new regular grates for my grill and bypass the infrared aspect. I will be contacting Charbroil about this soon.
