Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Chris So far great BBQ, quality seems good, room for improvement in a couple of areas
The housing for both gas and charcoal are solid. My biggest complaint would be the inability to absolutely control ventilation on the charcoal side. The unit comes with the openings and drill holes for the rotisserie attachment without any way to plug or seal them when not in use. For the gas side this is not an issue, but it makes smothering the charcoal side and controlling the heat a little more difficult than if one was using something like a traditional Webber. Other then that, the unit has been a great addition to this point. The ceramic coated cooking surface definitely feels like it is made to last longer than previous BBQ's I've owned in the past.

Only used it a few times so far. Set up was easy just took a while. I am disabled with limited arm use and between me and a friend and a couple more to do lifting we got it done in 3 hours taking our good old time. Stove works great the gas side heats up very quick and cools down quick. The charcoal side (thats my side LoL) was super easy to use and so simple to clean. To clean it just get a piece of card board and shovel it over the pan in back some goes thru the holes some goes over the top. After that pull out the tray and dump so simple. The adjustable height is great puts out great heat. Love how deep the charcoal pan goes used it on a windy day no problem. Dam that sucker gets hot like over 800 degrees on the thermometer while heating the coals. Love the fire box door just open it and see how far along your coals are and add wood and coal if needed without being burnt playing over the flame. Plenty of space cooked baby back ribs hamburger sausage veggies beans on the side hot dogs just about everything on Memorial day and there was still room for more. Easily feeds over 15 people or just 2 if you want. Makes good pasta Roni to on the side burner. Use 1 burner or all 3 and charcoal how ever you want. Love the low profile lids to. Smokes food great on the coal side with charcoal then add some wood to smoke when ready to cook. I will add more at the end of summer maybe the middle if I am not to busy eating.
Oh yeah important thing a cover from amazon this one (Patio Armor SF40274 80-Inch Premium Mega X-Large Grill Cover, Black) FITS LIKE A GLOVE. Cheap under 55 bucks great cover. Have any questions just ask. Here is some pics to.
The wheels are fine no problems moving it on asphalt. Very sturdy material everything was there no missing or broken parts. Just love it.
One more thing this replaces the old char broil gas and charcoal combo that was under one lid that we bought back in 2003 that lasted 10 years. This one I hope last at least 15 years. It is constructed that good just have to keep up the maintenance on it and it should last a very long time. When I bought mine I didn't find it in any store to look at it I just went by Char Broils reputation and reviews and not disappointed. Well wort the money!!!
Good Luck All

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hoss A awesome Grill/Smoker
We purchased this Charbroil to replace and upgrade from our previous Charbroil "Big Easy" After approx 10 yrs of use I burnt the cooking elements in half and being from Texas I wanted to be able to smoke Briskets as well as have a fast cooking grill for those lazy days. The assembly took about 3 hrs with very easy instructions. The height is prefect for me with a bad back. My friends all love the appearance, quality and taste of the food from this Grill. I would recommend this Grill/Smoker to anyone that loves to cook outside any time of the year. Thank You Charbroil for another super Grill.

Easy to assemble, but you definitely need at least one other person. I was able to do it alone, but it took longer than expected.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sarah great size for a dual gas and charcoal unit!
loved using site to store without paying shipping; there are very few combination gas/charcoal grills I could find in the Omaha area in stores and shipping on such a HEAVY item would have been monstrous. Went to Home Depot less than a mile from my house, two capable employees loaded it in the car, and my husband and 8 year old son had it up and running in 2 hours. Beautiful!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pat100 Nice grill
The grill arrived in an undamaged box on a pallet so shipping and delivery was fine. Two problems surfaced early on - one involved a side burner unit (part #32) which would not light reliably and I traced the problem to a burner unit that had been damaged when assembled at the factory and the other problem involved a dent in the control console (part #20) (a large dent under the left two control knobs) also apparently occurred prior to shipping. The first problem with the side burner was resolved with a 20-30 minute telephone call to customer service who shipped a new burner unit which works beautifully. The damage to the original burner was obvious when compared to the new unit supplied. As far as the dented control console panel, I didn't notice it until a day after assembling the unit. It is pretty noticeable but does not seem to affect the operation of the grill. Maybe in a few days when I think I have the time to telephone customer support, I may seek some kind of resolution on this problem. I am somewhat disappointed in the poor quality control of the components as shipped.
All things considered this is a nice unit and I hope to get at least as long as I got out of my last Charbroil grill which lasted 12 years and is still going strong. I mostly wanted to step up to the gas/charcoal combination unit. I have not had any longevity problems with my Charbroil units in the past but seasonal maintenance is a good idea and definitely prolongs the life of any unit.

I purchased a similar item same manufacturer in store. Burners burnt out less than a year after purchasing. Contacted manufacture, they said it was usual wear and not covered, however; would make a one time burner replacement. I installed the burners and had to had to re-enforce the structural part of the grill with additional metal due to rusting and thin metal. This grill was kept in the carport . Just purchased another grill from a different manufacturer. Will not purchase that brand ever again. I had a different grill in another residence that I sold with my house, 7 years on the porch and still going strong (this was also purchased from Home Depot ).

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by GoSpeed77 Good while it lasted
My sons bought me this as a late father's day gift (with help from their grandfather). I got it in July 2013. I've given it two stars, because it it was good while it lasted.
I live in the Midwest and we have harsh winters. This grill was moved into the garage during the winter and was covered for just about every occasion it wasn't in use.
However, during the first winter i moved it, the bottom shelf bent and has made rolling this beast around extremely difficult , as it changed the way 2 of the wheels were positioned in relation to the deck. Overall, the top half felt sturdily built, but the legs, the charcoal tray, the ash tray and the grease tray were just flimsy. By the end of the second summer the charcoal side was almost useless. The features were great - being able to adjust the height of the charcoal pan up and down - but it was cheap. The heat warped the entire pan and I couldn't bend it back. The coating inside the lids began to peel and crack as well.
At the end of the 2013 grilling season I cleaned it thoroughly and I put my grill away.
The 2014 grill season was mostly ok. I dealt with the bent tray and the bent bottom. But the cracked and peeling coating inside was getting worse. The burners on one side began to rust. I cleaned the inside and found more rust.
Last grilling season - 2015 - was the last. By the end of 2015, both sides had begun to get cancerous rust. The bottom part of the gas side was crumbling and is trashed. The charcoal side was good for one last grill - and then I bought a portable charcoal grill to supplement. The grill was immovable without picking it up and there is no easy way to do that. The side "wings" are not load bearing.
Why am I writing this review now? Because I need a new grill and I was frustrated that this grill cost as much as it did and lasted a whopping 2.5 grilling seasons. I knew I would need a new one - but was hoping I could get through one more year. I've been shopping around, reading reviews and for the same money I can get a grill that consistently lasts upwards of 10 years!! Not just online reports, and reviews but from grillers i know.
I wanted to love this grill - it's a gift from my boys. But in the end, I have to say - STAY AWAY. I love the memories we made, but it's time to replace it and it won't be another Char-broil. The cost per year of ownership was terrible.
