Howdy "Runamuk",
There are a few things to look at to find the reason for the lack of heat in your Bar-B-Que.
1) The regulator that connects to the tank can only be replaced and not be serviced. This is because it is stamped metal and not screwed together.
2) The burner holes could be clogged causing lack of gas to burn causing lack of heat.

2) The burner holes could be clogged causing lack of gas to burn causing lack of heat.
3) The tank could be leaking pressure or not have a damaged gauge.
4) Perhaps the temperature is actually higher and the thermometer is not working correctly.
These are the usual things that can cause lack of heat in a bar-b-que.
I usually like to have a pressure gauge to see if how much gas I have and if the tank is working properly.
Happy Grilling,
Coach Dave

Answer:
Bugs and spyders for nests inside the tubes the gas is supposed to flow to. DISCONNECT THE TANK AND LINE and carefully look inside travel tubes for the gas where goes to the burners then search the net on proper way to clean. Could also be your regulator hose. If you are not sure then bring the grill somewhere for a tuneup. Hank

Component Checks
• Check each before going further
Leak check should be performed on each component before going further. If found
replace gastrain.
1 Tank Valve Gasket Damaged - Look for damaged gasket material inside the tank
valve. If cut or badly abraded the tank should be replaced. It could cause a leak or
in excess it would trip the excess flow of the regulator. Consumer cannot replace
gasket in tank valve.
2 Regulator Damaged - If any leaks are found, replace assembly.
3 Hose Damaged - Look for cuts or burns in hose. Replace gastrain if you see either.
Crimped connections of hose to regulator and valve should show no signs of
damage. Replace if you see either. Possible leakage could occur.
4 Valve Damaged - If valve stem is bent, replace Hose/Valve/Regulator assembly. If
orifice is missing replace Hose/Valve/Regulator assembly.

Answer:
lost,
Yes it is a possibility but is generally not the case. Usually this is caused when the overpressure device has been activated. To remedy you will want to try resetting your regulator. Follow this link for step by step instructions on how to do this along with a video tutorial.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by just what I needed I was having problems with my grill not heating up well, or the other extreme, too much heat, so I replaced the regulator with a new one, it was OEM so it was guaranteed to to be the right one. Installation was a breeze, they had instructions if you needed them, but everyone knows guys only read directions as a last resort, right ? Thankyou Home Depot ! October 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No problems I used this for a project where I needed to regulate propane, not for a grill (obviously I'm not recommending using this for non-grill applications). I have had no problems with it and I've been banging it all over the place and transporting it. Just make sure it is long enough to reach your propane bottle. It should be long enough, but double check. I like the big plastic "knob" for attaching and unattaching to bottles, which I do frequently. If you are still reading, just buy the thing already. :) April 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just like the original. When my tank coupler decided not to allow the propane to flow anymore for some reason I went to the Charbroil website looking for a replacement. The only option available for my model was to replace the entire burner array which included the hose and coupler that I needed. At a cost that almost would have paid for a new Bar B Que. Hunting around I came across this item which was exactly what I needed, at a reasonable cost. It installed quickly, looked identical to the old one and most importantly it functions correctly. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A little short but it works. This regulator and hose assembly is a good bit shorter than the stock unit but it fits. I just can't store my propane tank under the grill like I could with the stock hose and regulator. Be sure to check for leaks after installing the new hose and regulator, I had to unscrew it and reinstall it several times before I was satisfied there weren't anymore leaks. It's still WWAAYYY cheaper than replacing the entire burner assembly, which is what the CharBroil website wanted. May 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent purchase. Order & delivery were easy and efficient, and most of all EARLY. The hose works fine and the little extra length makes it easy to attach a bottle not in the stand *outside the case). August 1, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Seems to work fine - Hose too short The product seems to work well, but CharBroil has made this replacement with a hose that is too short. The gas tank now needs to be placed outside the unit just below the side burner. February 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product I used this regulator in my Ducane Gas Grill. It fits perfect. No leaks. I turned on all 5 burners, outside burner and Rotissery grid. All works perfectly. Excellent price. Tip: Remove your regulator and take it with you to the store for comparison, making sure the hose length and fitting are correct. Highly recommend. January 2, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Product Fine. delivery mechanism NOT Propane regulator best price I could find online by a few $ & it got the BBQ going Fine. NO Problem- Good Price & Product. Could not ask for more. July 11, 2013
