We bought this unit about 6 weeks ago and have used it on two trips so far. We have used the disposable green canisters and even adapted it to our larger propane tank on the fifth wheel. No matter what we dial the fuel down too we cannot get this unit to heat up to anything less than the maximum unless we leave lid off. Consequently you have to tend everything all the time so you do not burn your meal up. Even with infrared there is some minor flare up. We have the big infrared deep fryer from charbroiled and have enjoyed it for a couple years now,but this is a big disappointment. We will go back to using our larger Coleman starting this weekend.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Victor A must have portable grill for campers
This is the first infrared grill that I have tested and it surely did not disappoint. First of the size its portable and at the same time not too heavy. You can easily carry it in the trunk of your car with some luggage space still remaining. No tedious assembling is required and you are ready to use the equipment in 5 mins after unpacking. The overall construction of the grill is pretty solid and it also has a temperature gauge. The design of the grill is made to reduce flareups. I tried them for grilling chicken and turkey pieces and did not observe any flareups. However, I am not sure this will be the case for high fat meats (I do not use them so cannot comment). The cooked meat was definitely juicer and did not dry much due to the radiating heat. The gas consumption is pretty average and the small disposable tank lasts for around hour and a half. Be sure to burn let the flames running for a while before using the grill initially.
The flame started is not battery operated which is pretty convenient. Now for some con's there is no stand available for this particular model, all you can do is have a portable picnic table if you need it. Also no place to hang or put the grilling tools. The gas controller knob looks flimsy and seems that it will not last long.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ibtd Well built and cooks great
We bought one of these grills about a year ago when we got a small travel trailer. It's sturdy and works so well that sometimes I use it at home instead of our older full size Jenn-air gas grill. Since we don't normally need a large grill I'm thinking about buying a second one to use at home and only drag out the camper grill when we need more. I only use a 20 lb tank with a 10 foot hose. That way I can use the extra tank on our trailer or connect up to one on the deck at home. You can remove the regulator with the hose attached and stow it inside the latched grill for travel. I never tried it with the little bottles and probably never will.

We purchased this grill a little over one week ago after searching the reviews on all similar grills. Even with some negative reviews this grill appeared to be the best for our use as picnic accessory. I have used it every day and found the negative comments to be unwarranted. The grill cooked very thick chicken breasted perfectly. It does get hot, but the technology appears to cook the meat through leaving ideal grill marks.
When the grill cooking grate needed cleaning after 6 meals it took less then 5 minutes to clean the entire grill with the provided tool.
We have been hardcore charcoal grill users for 25 years. This grill has caused us to rethink gas grills. We plan on acquiring the adaptor for a 20# tank and use this grill as our home grill.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pete Not your average portable grill!
I was surprised at the quality of materials used for this grill. I am used to using the portable grills that rust out everywhere, I don't think that's going to be a problem with this one. Seems to be made with heavy duty metal. I did have a problem though, after the first use the regulator knob snapped. Home Depot and Char-Broil were great about rushing me a new one. I assume it was just a faulty part and not a rule of thumb. I would highly recommend buying the custom fit bag that is made for this. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Char-Broil-Grill2Go-X200-Carry-All-Case-12401735P/204074157?keyword=grill2go+x200+bag#.Umbm8tfD-M8.
I have included some pictures of the grill in the bag and the accessories the bag holds. This truly makes it a grab and go grill. My outdoor grill is also infrared and I love it. Very even heat distribution. There is also plenty of grilling space, easily makes enough for 5-6 people depending on what you're cooking. Could fit 3-4 hefty steaks no problem. I look forward to using this for some time to come.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jwag1785 Cooks At 650+ degrees won't go any lower
I bought this a couple of months ago, at first it was excellent, couldn't have been happier. After a few uses it now heats to no less than 650 degrees on the lowest setting, even with a brand new regulator. Contacted customer service and was told it is a tailgating grill and it is supposed to heat to this temperature for fast cooking. I tried to explain to them that you can not cook at 700 degrees, they told me yes you can. Go ahead and buy if you like your food burnt on the outside and raw on the inside.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Danwec Great! Just have to learn how to use it.
I've had it for 3 years now and its holding up fine, great construction. Took a while to get the hang of cooking with this grill. The infrared cooks through the food. Pre heat it on high for a few minutes ,then turn it down to medium and cook your food on it for about 3/4 the time you normally would. Outside will have a great little bit of char and the inside will be perfect- just don't let it cook too long. It really just fast forwards the cooking.
