I make A LOT of jerky and have stripped the plastic gears on many a slicer. I spent a bit more on this slicer because you can buy replacement gears for it. Still wish the gears were metal but that isn't happening here. My only complaint so far is that the machine seriously lacks power.

This is a great kitchen item to have. Not only does it slice meat perfectly, but it also slices bread loaves perfectly as well. Easy to use and easy to clean.. Great product for the price. Just the right size for our kitchen. A must buy in my opinion.

I did a lot of research and chose this slicer which i needed since I have been curing my own bacon. The first slab i sliced was perfect and having the thin slices helped the flavor of the bacon. I have sliced up 10lbs of bacon since getting this slicer and works like a charm and is easy to clean.

The best you will find for home use for under $150. Super easy to clean. I bought 2 others brands and bought them back, too hard to clean or wouldn't cut. Has the motor of the higher model. All metal frame. Slider is metal/plastic, but well made. All parts to the dishwasher and the rest is an easy wipe down. A lot of research has led me to this brand/model...

We make our own sasauge and the slicer works great for both our home made meats and store bought.

Easy to set up and use. I first sliced up a boars head lemon pepper chicken with ease, the slices were thin and perfect. My second try was with boars head maple glazed ham, I couldn't get the slices as thin as I'd like but still worked pretty well,Possibly because the outside of the ham was harder. I'm still happy with the purchase and will just pick a different easier meat to cut.
