Customer Questions & Answers

Can I buy just one can Of the ChemDry Stain Extinguisher??

Asked by: sly
Home Depot used to sell it in stores, but no longer. You can buy single or twin packs form other online retailers, but the price per can is more expensive than just buying a case from Home Depot. You are better off getting friends\family to buy a case with you and then divvy it up.

How many square feet per can

Asked by: Ben
This is not really designed to clean carpet by the square foot. It is designed and works great on cleaning up individual spills and stains. I have used it to clean up cat hairballs, crushed blueberries, soda spills, juice spills, baby puke etc. If I had to guess, I would say that each can will treat 10-15 spots

It will take out all kinds of spills and stains... cat vomit, soda, coffee, red wine, blueberries, ice cream, old unknown spills that no one fesses up to etc. you name it! I have even used it on the beige headliner in my car to remove mud\dirt\juice stains courtesy of the kids. If the only great thing about this product was how well it cleaned, that would be great. However the biggest benefit of this a product that no one talks about; is that you spray, clean and wipe and you are done! (Maybe re-spray and agitate a bit if it’s a stubborn stain) But unlike all the other stuff out there- you don't then have to then rinse the carpet with water. Take a walk down the janitorial aisle of Home Depot and read the labels on literally all the other stain removers: (go ahead I did just this week) The problem with all of them, is that they contain surfactants (soaps or soap type ingredients), so once you use those other products, you HAVE to rinse the carpet with water or sop it up with a wet rag. If you don’t, the surfactants in all those other cleaners will attract dirt. The Chemdry Stain extinguisher is the only one where you can just spray the stain, wipe it up and you are done. My only complaints are not with the product but with availability: I wish it was available in stores in a single or twin\triple pack instead of only online by the case. If it was available in single cans: I wish Home Depot would use their volume buying power to drive the price down even a little. It is so tempting for people to buy the $9 can of junk that won’t work instead of spending a few dollars more for this. Summary: -The ChemDry Stain Extinguisher works better on the widest variety of stains and is the easiest product to use. (So easy a caveman can use it). -Every person with carpets or fabric should have some of this. -Home Depot should sell it in stores.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product, hard to buy! And now the price triples since May! I have used this product for several years. It is great for pet stains such as hairballs, and "accidents." I have never had a stain it did not at least improve, if not totally and quickly remove. Purple chokecherry stain mashed into white carpet? Not a problem! It also does not leave a residue to attract new stain materials after it dries. So why is it so hard to buy? Used to be available in single and triple packs. Now only in 12 can cases, and the price has more than tripled since I sent some to a friend in May. Someone trying to run them out of business?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The absolute best! I have used this product for years. We have cats, and nothing takes out throw-up stains better than this. It's also excellent for wine stains and on fabrics as well as carpet. Today I tried to buy more at the local store and they were out. I tried a nearby city and same story. My question is: Why on earth would you remove the best product you sell from your stores??

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great product but poorly designed nozzle I absolutely love this product but will longer be buying it. I was forced to buy a case as previous stated in other reviews. That was bad enough but five out of twelve cans had to be thrown away with solution in them due to a poorly designed nozzle. Most of the cans were at least half full and one was used once and the nozzle broke. Way too expensive to end up in the trash. I have done some researching and will buy another product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job This is a very good carpet cleaning product. It's unfortunate that Home Depot makes you buy a case of the stuff instead of a single can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product. I have used this product for years and I've haven't yet found a stain (or soil) that this product cannot eliminate in just minutes. You gotta love that! And it leaves behind NO residue . I can seriously recommend this carpet stain remover without reservation. The price has increased substantially over time but compare the cost of the cleaner to the cost of replacing your carpet and the cleaner wins hands down,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best product for this this purpose I've ever used. I use this product to spot-clean "pet accidents' from my carpets. It removes all visible and 'smell' evidence from the area. I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chem Dry is Simply the Best! This product works better than any other product around. Most leave any oily residue that is very ugly on carpet. If you use Chem Dry you MUST follow the directions, but if you do you will be very pleased. I have spilled red wine in the same spot 3 times and it has completely come out all 3 times. You may need to use a whole can while doing it but it really works. PS My carpet is off white!!!! The only complaint that I have is that while Home Depot owned Chem Dry a case was only around $79.00. Since selling the Chem Dry brand the price of a case has doubled which is outrageous.....
