Ceiling fan motor wires had too little wire exposed. You need pliers to strip away another quarter inch of insulation. Installing the motors housing requires a second person to tuck in wires before lining up the screws and sockets. Instructions are vague. In fact, no instructions provided for attaching the ceiling fan blades to the motor housing. Two persons required to install the fan blades: one person to hold the blade and the other to insert the screws. The screw holes for the fan blades are recessed at at angle. Fortunately, I had flexible shaft screw driver that allowed to work with the recessed angle and tighten the screw. Each blade has 2 anchor screws. Once the first screw is lined up, the rest follow suit, but again, it takes two people for this part of the job. The blade motor hums a bit at high speed. Attaching the light fixture to the motor housing was simple operation with the wires conveniently snapping together. At $45 the fan is a good value.

This fan is perfect! We installed in our rental, it was fast & easy to install (hubby says we'll never buy another brand). Very quiet and looks amazing!

absolutely do not buy this fan... It is super noisy. bought middletons for the smaller bedrooms and they are AWESOME. well constructed, quiet, nice finish.... This clarkston is NONE of those. The fan blades don't have cushion where the metal meets the blade for installation... makes noise... the motor for the fan is super noisy. The finish on the blades is horrible. it is like painted cardboard with a VERY flat finish. no using a wet rag to clean these blades so don't even think of installing near kitchen. the light fixtures only hold candelabra bulbs... so its back to the hardware store everytime one burns out.... For 2 less inches get the middleton. also, nothing comes assembled on this fan....you actually have to remove screws from fan motor to reinstall the screws into the fan blades to reattach to motor... would have been less work if they just put them in a bag..there's 10 screws to unscrew then screw back in...middleton they were already in the fan blade all you had to do was attach it to the motor...

Fan on its highest setting is not very powerful. Lights are cheap. You can do better-keep looking!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by SMEG Uses candelabra bulbs. YUCK!
I went to Home Depot (30 miles away) to purchase this fan. After I got there, I found out that the fan uses candelabra bulbs (mini base). Selection of bulbs in this size is terrible and forget getting LED bulbs unless you pay $15 each (vs $4 for standard base). Why ruin a good fan with non-standard light bulbs? Also, why not mention the candelabra bulbs in the description or details?

Good quality fan. It is quiet, balanced and easy to install. The only thing that I would like better on it is for it to use standard light bulbs in lieu of smaller bulbs. Overall very happy and I'm going to buy another to install in another bedroom.
