We purchased the updated model 2000 in may of 2014. Its a nice unit and easy to use. Probably used it about 6 times over the summer. We went to use it mid August and water started leaking from the bottom, big time. I assumed it was the high pressure hose judging by the other comments. It wasn't. The water intake pipe just before it goes into the main pump was completely corroded. Huge hole !
What on earth could cause that, its just cold water and not even pressurized. However, it does appear to be a cheap type of pot metal. We cant find the receipt so I guess were out of luck. Don't go near this product. The early Ryobi tools had better quality than this.

This unit seemed like a good value. However, there were a number of problems with it.
Both the gun and the hose failed within a year of getting it, and with less than 10 uses.
You MUST buy replacement parts from the manufacturer. They are NOT compatible with M22 fittings, they are proprietary.
The manufacturer has TERRIBLE customer service. They never answer the phone and take days to call you back.
And once you do get a hold of them, you find out their warranty is useless and even if it wasn't, most of their parts are out of stock with no restocking date. Meaning it can't be fixed.
I would avoid this unit at all costs.

High pressure hose blew out under ordinary use after four months [three month warranty]. Hose can not be replaced using ordinary tools -- can't even disassemble it without extra long number 2 Phillips screwdriver [which i bet you don't have -- neither do I & I'm a decent auto mechanic].
Experience showed that 1800 psi isn't enough for heavy tasks anyway; gas power @ 3000 psi is required for stubborn mildew and a second tank [for solvent or degreaser] is very desirable.
These things are ok for the sidewalk and driveway IF you manually supply degreaser or solvent but not for larger tasks such as a whole house exterior.

1. The unit worked great, until the brass trigger assembly cracked on the gun & sprang a major leak (out of warranty of course).
2. There are no replacement parts for this unit available at any Home Depot in or near my location.
3. Contacting the manufacturer (ClearForce): They have a two or three week backlog on parts ordered from the manufacturer (also with no form available on internet site to pre-order by snail mail).
4. Pre-ordering for the part(s) in question cannot be made by customer at Home Depot.
5. There are no non-manufacturer interchangeable parts available at Home Depot for this product.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ranchman Terrible hose
Started to leak soon after purchase from within its case. After a year of spars use, the internal metal braid began to rust and break through the exterior of the hose in three locations on the spray hose. Lucky that I'm good at breaking an item like this down! To remove the hose to the real and the connecting hose from the reel to the unit. I had to take just about every item and screw off! not very user friendly. That is where I discovered that the first leak came from the second hose within the housing. I paid a bit extra thinking it may be a better product but the crank whined hose should have given me a clue! Will NOT buy this product again!

This unit has many bad reviews, but mine isn't one of them. I bought this unit in the summer of 2012 to clean the siding on our new home. I use it quite often during the warm months to clean our siding, driveway, garage, walk ways, decks and cars. It gets used very often and is well take care of. It sits in my warm basement during the winter. So far I have not had any issues with it. In fact it works better than I expected and has lasted longer than I expected. If you follow the operating and storage instructions this thing should work fine. It does need to be connected to a good quality garden hose though.

bought the cleanforce 1800 . used it a few times .hose split. got mad at wasting 170.00 bucks. please cleanforce, please contact me and make this right. its not fair to folks who bought your washer. they need to get allot more than 4 or 5 uses out of your product before it goes belly up.
