Product Overview

With twice the power in a compact size the DB2e is ideal for indoor and outdoor. The DB2e antenna is great for problematic areas, such as attics. The antenna is easy to assemble and can be roof mounted. Range is rated within 45+ miles; making it ideal for those in locations that can pull long range signals from various directions.DB2e Extended Range Outdoor HDTV Antenna has twice the power and half the size - making it ideal for indoor and outdoor. The DB2e antenna is great for problematic areas, such as attics. Conventional wisdom said that no improvement could be made to the bowtie antenna design. We’ve ended those misconceptions, finding performance far exceeding even our expectations. We have created an antenna the size of our original DB2, but with the performance of the DB4. This increased gain is not only relevant, but it has further enabled the trend of over-the-air TV viewership. The extended range of the Enhanced DB line can reach out further and receive additional broadcast channels that you couldn't watch before. The DB2e antenna is light years ahead of our competition. No other compact bowtie antenna can match the combination of its power, gain and value.

  • Range Up to 45 plus miles strong performance across UHF HDTV spectrum
  • All weather balun included flexible aiming characteristics, 60 degree beam-width
  • Indoor, outdoor and attic use peak gain: 12 dBi
  • Front to back ratio greater than 18 dBi

Customer Questions & Answers

Is DB2-E UHF only? Is the Clearstream 2 max what you recommend for a single story ranch home attic install in my area (wood/shingle roof)? We are interested is quality reception for the major networks NOT extended channels Thank you.

Asked by: JimV
The Db2e is only designed for UHF reception. Which antenna we recommend depends entirely on your location and the specific variables there. I recommend contacting our Technical Support team directly for more detailed analysis. You can reach them either on the phone @ 877-825-5572 or online with our Live Chat option. Thanks for your time!

I have lightly tinted windows. Would that make a difference? Also, I can't face north, way too many trees but east is very good. Is that okay?

Asked by: mhami
Tinted windows are not a known interrupter of broadcast signal. In order to know if facing East will work well, a detailed radar plot will need to be run. I recommend that you contact our Technical Support department at your earliest convenience. You can reach them either on the phone @ 877-825-5572 or online with our Live Chat option. To my surprise, this UHF antenna gets a weak, but watchable VHF signal from 56 miles away although it is oriented some 70 degrees away from that signal. It is only amplified 10dbs. Is it normal? What is the gain in VHF for the DB2e?

Asked by: golfaddict
The VHF gain on the DB2e is 0. The VHF reception can occur on the coaxial cable. Since VHF channels are sometimes broadcast vertically, horizontally or both a coaxial cable that is hanging from the coax connector can act as a VHF antenna. Receiving VHF on the coax is unusual, but not unheard of. If you want to improve the VHF reception, adding an amplifier like the Antennas Direct Juice preamp is a good possible solution. Feel free to contact our Technical Support team for more support. You can reach them either on the phone @ 877-825-5572 or online with our Live Chat option. Thanks for your time!

Is this good for a satellite internet signal

Asked by: Dalehcline
The antenna is only designed to work the UHF and VHF frequencies. Satellite internet works on a much higher frequency. Feel free to contact our Technical Support team either on the phone @ 877-825-5572 or online with our Live Chat option. Thanks for your time!

Customer Reviews

45-Mile Extended Range Outdoor HDTV Antenna is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I use this as a secondary antenna to get closer UHF channels. My primary UHF antenna is the DB8E and both works really well. It is combined with a clearstream5 for VHF. The signal for thee DB2E is not combined with the DB8e and clearstream5. Yet, the DB2e also gets a VHF signal (FOX) from the DB2E from 56 miles away (NMdb: 4.8 on TVfool) and my antenna is oriented some 70 degrees away from that signal. In addition, it is only amplified 10dbs. The signal is weak but it does come in fairly often. Is it normal to get VHF signals with thiis antenna? What is the gain in VHF for the DB2e? Thanks. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Antenna works great! After a brief phone call with Antennas Direct I purchased the recommended unit. I replaced the current antenna with my new extended range antenna and the results was fantastic. I went from three to about forty channels. Thank you Antennas Direct. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressed with the reception Antenna is being used inside the peak of the garage in a heavily wooded location approximately 35 miles SW of the Milwaukee WI transmitters. I was sceptical if it would work, but relied on the advise of the tech when I called the company. Results are excellent with only an occasional signal loss for a second or two on one channel. I highly recommend this unit. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great customer service, Great product I called the customer service department after doing my own homework on antennas. I had one in mind that I thought would work for me, but I had a few questions. Customer service located my home and the nearest broadcast antennas for me and told me I only needed a DB2e to receive all the channels possible. The great part was that they down sold me from the original antenna I called about saying, "I could buy the more expensive one, but I won't need it." Saving me about $80. I ordered the antenna, installed it i my attic and now I get every channel broadcast in our area with a crystal clear picture. I have not seen my signal meter drop below 92% on any channel. Great resource and product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better than expected antenna! The antenna came partially assembled and took less than 5 minutes to complete without a lengthy instruction sheet. Great. After finding where my strongest signal I was surprised again. 1 am able to get 18 HD channels crystal clear. I didn't need an amplifier just the DB2E. Great price and great product. Thanks!
