However, be sure to read all of the comments about the rubber gasket. We followed the directions and it leaked the first time. You should glue the rubber to the hard plastic first , then use silicone to attach it. Do a bit of research before you install it. Many of the comments were about contractors having problems too. Do not assume they will see the issue. Read Less

Answer:
My stopper stopped working after a few months, so I sent Kohler an email. They sent me out a replacement part that I received within the week. Since I can't see how it fell apart, I can't advise. But I'm sure they'll send you a new one. The drain is warrantied for one year.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. The drain stopper parts are threaded and screw together. The stopper itself can be placed in the drain opening and turned clockwise to tighten it.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Description Is Incorrect Look carefully at the picture and then read the description. Check the part number at Kohler's website. You will discover that this item is NOT, in fact, the brass overflow bath drain but is, rather, the PVC one. The price alone should be a dead giveaway. I knew that going in but would have been really mad if I had expected the brass unit. Installation went OK but the seal between the overflow collector and the tub could be better. A gasket, silicone sealant and three screws make it all work. Could have been done better by Kohler. February 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sealant and sealant It will be even great if the installation package includes silicon sealant. My conctractor did not use sealant to the gasket rubber (:-<). After a month (yes, more than a month) the ceiling below the tub started seeing wet spot and eventually water leaking. You know what's happened next to your ceiling. Just a friendly suggestion and reminder. December 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great bath drain and design Although I haven't had this product for a very long time, I can say that my contractor just installed it with my Archer bathtub and it looks amazing! I'm not sure why so many people reviewed this product saying they had trouble installing it. My contractor said that if it's done right, it really not a problem. He said he didn't have any issues with this. I also noticed that this drain pipe had a brass option to purchase. He also told me that it's unnecessary to purchase brass and that PVC will last longer. Overall, I love how my tub and this drain look together. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone. October 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by love my bathtub perfect the associate helped me find it the folks helped me load it! April 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great but a bit tricky to install Overall the chrome plate looks sharp in the tub - we like the simple horizontal look (so much better than a traditional round plate/knob) and mirror finish. Our plumber did have difficulty with the installation. The gasket behind the plate didn't seal completely and left a leak. It took some experimentation with tightening different screws and squeezing silicone caulk to get the seal correct. He also went with experience in cutting the PVC pipe rather than following the directions - which resulted in a section being too short and having to find replacement pipe. Fortunately he had a lot of cement! September 6, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by drain stopper failed Tub is 2 years old. The stopper is a toe touch and you push once to stop and once to open. After 2 years it does not work anymore. Now I have to look for rebuild kit, if such even exists. I took it apart and of course it is just cheap plastic and has worn out. Not a big deal if you could get parts readily. Did I mention that this is not cheap to buy to start with. August 17, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by tub drain problem Finally received the tub drain kit after making 4 trips to the HD store. Problem is the retail stores sell the Kohler Archer & Devonshire tubs, but do not stock the tub drain kits K 7272. Looks to me it would be better if the special tub kits would be available at the retail store, where the tub was purchased, instead of having to special order the kit. Four stores within a 50 mile radius did not stock this K 7272 and I had to special order it. Thanks March 20, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Toe-tap stopper failed after 6 months! Just installed this drain kit 6 months ago with an archer tub and the drain stopper has already failed. Pulled it after my wife tried taking a bath the other night and didn't realize it wasn't working until she had run completely out of hot water and the tub had barely filled. After removing the stopped, saw that the seal is warped. Very disappointing for a Kohler product. Thanks for ruining my date night Kohler. January 13, 2012
