I replaced a 20 year old wood door because the panels were rotting, but aside from that all the hardware was good. By comparison, the hinges on this door are minimal stampings, the support rails, rollers and brackets are barely adequate for the job, the cable and roller sheaves are minimal quality. It's been engineered to be cheap to manufacture and functional enough to barely last the length of the warrentee, Hard to believe this is what the manufacturer calls the "premium series".

I had installed an 8 X 7 insulated garage door w/top row windows & E-Z set torque spring 10 years ago. Spring did break after 10 years of very active use. Clopay was excellent on shipping new part and answering several questions about repair/replacement of the torque spring. Short waiting time on the phone and very knowledgable people. The only negative is that on Home Depot doors, you MUST go to the HD Service Desk and they place the order, shipped directly to your house. Would be easier to go direct to manufacturer as most do today. The Service Desk help was excellent and interested in helping.

The garage door was high quality construction. The hardware fit perfectly. The kit was missing a couple of lag screws for mounting the brackets to the jam. This isn't a problem if you are replacing an existing garage door, you should have plenty of extra hardware. The directions are one size fits all for all of the Premium series garage door sizes. It can be a little confusing so make sure to read ahead. There are notes that tell you not to do things you already did because you have a certain kind of door. These notes don't show up until after you already completed that particular step.
The worst part about doing the instal is the drilling. It's more than deceptive. There are sheet metal screw boss's on every section. These are not a template to drill through to attach the lift handles. They have to be 1/2 inch hols and the material doesn't drill very clean. There is a lot of jagged, mangled, and mushroomed metal around the holes. Not to mention the burnt Styrofoam. This could probably be better accomplished with a different bit. I used a Dewalt multipurpose bit. Make sure to measure based on the handle. The handles are plastic and not mandatory. A guy can get away without using them if he doesn't need to open the door manually.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by steve great door and an excellent value
Installed by myself in about 6-7 hours. That included removal of old door and some minor reframing. Very smooth operation. Works well with 8 foot ceilings. If you have a 8 foot ceiling and want an opener buy a Sommer Direct Drive opener because it only needs 1 3/8" clearance. Only con is the instructions could be better on the rail assembly. Its easy to confuse left and right. Insulation is great and the house is much warmer.

One of the doors bent the first time it was opened by the automatic opener. If the doors cannot be used with an automatic opener, without reinforcement, the purchaser should be aware of that before purchase and installation.

These garage doors are excellent for the price. They went up with no problems, look great and operate smooth.

My only complaint was that there were no pre exsisting holes for the interior/exterior handles. No procedure to apply them, in instructions.
