Finky, Clopay has many Garage Door options but unfortunately a one piece door is not one of them. You can visit to see all of our options for the standard upward acting garage door. Thanks, The Clopay Team

What is the wind rating of the door? Many new building codes have included wind ratings.

What is the wind rating of the door? Many new building codes have included wind ratings.
Asked by: mouseproof
It depends on your exposure level but as a guideline it's rated for winds between 90 and 115 MPH. Florida and other coastal areas in the southeast do have building codes which require wind rated doors. Your best bet is to use our configurator tool at When you enter your zip code the tool will automatically show doors which are approved for your area. Hope this helps and thanks for shopping at The Home Depot.

Premium Series 9 ft. x 7 ft. 18.4 R-Value Intellicore Insulated Solid Ultra-Grain Cherry Garage Door is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 32.

The Good: The door itself is quite good, adequately insulated and good steel inside and outside panels covered with a very durable finish. The Bad: I ordered and paid for my door with the optional "lock", it wasn't included and I ended up purchasing from Home Depot (and paying for) a second one. When I called Clopay I was told that the money wouldn't be charged to me, it was and I have received no refund. Both vertical door tracks needed to be mirror images of each other, they were both the same, requiring some machining with a die grinder on my part to make them work (once again Clopay said they would send the right part, they never did.) Several of the pre-punched holes and backing plates in the door panels didn't line up with there the screws from the mounting brackets had to go into them. I had to re-drill over twenty locations to get them to work. The brackets they provide for mounting the top back of the door track only work if you have rafters going parallel to the tracks, mine run across the tracks. I had to mount additional support angle iron pieces to accommodate the door return springs off to each side as a result. Now that the door is installed, I like it, but for a DIY installation the problems greatly outweigh the value of this door. The Company is unresponsive, makes many mistakes and many are beyond normal DIY peoples capability to fix them. I am an engineer and built my own house, so for me these were just annoyances, for most people they would be impossible obstacles. In conclusion, nice door, but unless you are an engineer who has lots of tools and likes to solve problems do not buy a Clopay door to install yourself. I do not think Home Depot does it's customers any favors by doing business with this irresponsible company.

It is a manufacturing defect, not bent, not cracked. I was busy working on my project so it took me an extra month to install them. They have some ridiculous rule that you have 45 days to open it to discover manufacturing defects. What's more is that the defect was caused because the veneer is razor thin. These doors likely will break regardless. Yes, their policy is absurd, but frankly it's just poor quality, which explains the defect to begin with.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cut corners somewhere else Bought a 16 and 8 clopay premium garage door. I hired a outide contractor to install doors. He opened the hardware kit and laughed. The hinges were paper thin. The rollers were cheap non ball bearing. But most disappointing were the springs. They would maybe be sufficient for a non insulated door. Needless to say my installer made a trip to his distributor and got the hardware that should have come with a PREMIUM door. 200 dollars later and that was his cost I have a great looking garage door. The door itself is high quality but I cannot recommend with the hardware that comes with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from extension spring not coil spring These doors come with an extension spring not a coil spring. There is a reason every other manufacture switched to coil springs back in the 1950s. Home depot said they could get me coil spings but it would cost $300 extra. Extension springs are noisy and do not perform well. Basically is's just a glorified rubber band.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible customer service I bought two of this company's doors. Had a problem with one of the panels. They told me they would not stand behind their product. I would highly recommend anybody other door company but not them

Rated 3 out of 5 by from QUALITY DOOR BUT... Door has the best R value available and with foam injected core it should also be more dent resistant! Overall It's a great door. Three things kept this door from getting 5 stars: (1) One panel had some dents/kinks in it. Fairly insignificant since it's only on one panel and, on the inside. Looks like a packaging band was over-tightened to cause issue. (2) I had to remove and re-install the steel reinforcing brackets on the ends of a few panels. They were not properly aligned and I was unable to install the hinges. (3) CAME WITH EXTENSION SPRIGS, NOT TORSION SPRINGS! This was not my fault for not catching it. A competitor was selling this exact door under another brand name for $30 more but, it also included an operator bracket. Competitor advertised ez-set torsion springs and an operator bracket. I didn't need the bracket so, I bought it from Home Depot. Home Depot's description didn't mention the springs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Doors, but The doors were easy to install. Fit, form, and finish are all great. Two things bother me about the kits. You would think ALL required hardware should be required with the doors. The required 1/8" cable clamps were not included, therefore a $10 trip to the hardware store was required to safely finish installation. Problem two is the size of the extension springs included. The springs provided are barely adequate for the weight of these insulated doors. I will be replacing the springs with heavier springs to make opening the doors manageable by an average person.
