technically yes, but it can throw off the weight enough to where the springs will need to be adjusted or possibly even upgraded. (springs should lift 99% of the door weight. so if the original spring is balanced to lift the un-insulated door and it is not adjusted or upgraded (if need be), then you're opener (and its plastic gears) will be forced to carry that extra load up and down.

so yes, but it is important to make sure the door is balanced afterwards. if it is not, I'd have someone come out to adjust the spring. Read Less

Answer:
Hi Pete, I did not find a cut sheet on line for your door. However you can call Clopay toll free at 1-800-225-6729 and request a cut sheet that list the wind spec's.

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.3 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Door fell apart within 16 months I had this door for 16 months and the glue came apart on the center vertical braces. This allowed the door to buckle inward and eventually just break both the top panels. I would absolutely never, ever own a Clopay door again. Clopay refused to warranty anything. The Amarr door I replaced was there for 25 years. I ended up getting another Amarr and it's night and day with the quality. It's much quieter also. October 1, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Door Value Fine, Shoddy Installation causes buckling I have owned this door for about 10 months. I purchased installation from Home Depot. Today, my daughter said the door was bending. And it was, stressing the top brace support and causing the metal on the top middle to rip. this seems to be the same problem as the other buyers. On closer inspection, on the bottom portion of the top horizontal support, there were no screws or bolts. There wasn't enough support for the door to hold up when it went down. As the others with problems, I had my door installed as well. Without screws installed at all intersections with the vertical braces, you will have a pile of junk. I went out and purchased some bolts, nuts, washers, and locking washers. After installation in the three joints without bottom support(see picture), the door works perfectly. This door is a value garage door so it is nothing special. Installed correctly it works great and does its job. I highly recommend it for what it is. I do recommend making sure the top support is fastened completely. I would also check it periodically to make sure no screws/bolts have fallen out. May 7, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Door buckles under weight! Same problem as other buyers... Glue comes off, the rivets dont hold and the metal starts tearing on the panels. Don't buy! August 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EZ Spring System was a great idea If you need a new garage door on a budget this is a nice door for the price. The ez spring system is the best invention ever. It makes installing your own garage door much easier and safer. Use the instruction manual, it takes you step by step through the installation process. The door rollers are cheap, so you may want to use the old ones or buy better ones. The door includes everything you will need but it doesn't include track hangers, but if you are replacing your door you can use the existing hangers. We have never installed a garage door before and it only took 5 hours to complete and saved me a few hundred bucks. Requires moderate handyman skills. June 12, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works as advertised First time installing a garage door. Some expected hiccups along the way. The instruction manual that is included with the door has a few errors. That being said, the door looks great, the spring was very easy to wind with their drill adapter, and its fairly light for a 17 ft long door. Would recommend. April 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk Very weak and cheaply constructed. The panels cannot support their own weight. As said in previous reviews the door buckles under it's own weight when open. Absolute trash and a waste of money. Time to find a quality door to replace the two year old Coplay. January 30, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 16 foot clopay insulated garage door Had this door less than 6 months and the middle caved in one day while putting the door in the up position. there is not enough stability to these doors. I called clopay but they were a JOKE!!!!!! FIND ANOTHER OPTION January 14, 2013
