Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sel1 modify the system!!
I recently bought a house with wire shelving prehung. the system used the preloaded back clips and in the early morning, the preloaded clips gave way and my wife's belongings came crashing down. I have not read all the directions, but it seems that maybe these are advertised as, ok to hang in drywall alone. I don't ever trust that kind of setup. I put the shelving back up, using the slightly more expensive white wall clips, but I used wood screws and attached them to studs. I also attached the support brackets to studs. these shelves aren't going anywhere now. the other downside is that when you take these 'preloaded' wall clips outs, they leave huge holes in the walls!! good luck with this stuff. my advice, always hang from studs!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by LindaD Very dissatisfied!
I bought the wire shelving and the brackets/clips to hang them at my local Home Depot. The shelving is fine. The clips and brackets to hang the shelving apparently require superhuman strength to install according to directions included with the brackets/clips. I simply could not push the nails/tacks through the included drywall anchors as the instructions said I should be able to. Even trying to pound them in was unsuccessful.
I will be using regular wall anchors to hang the shelves, and I will NOT be buying ClosetMaid products in the future.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by toolchick Installing into the stud has solved my problem!
My wire shelves were installed w/ these clips and they fell when I put too many things on them. That wasn't working for me. I bought some longer screws and took down the shelves and predrilled into the studs and then screwed the same clips up on the wall. Now I can swing on the shelf! I don't understand why that hasn't worked in some of the reviews I've read. I'm buying some more clips and shelves to put up.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by PaulG Absolute junk, will eventually bend and fail
They work well now, but in 4-5 years these clips will fail. Most likely in the middle of the night, dropping everything on the shelf to the ground. Search online and you will find similar experiences. Why Closetmaid would continue creating liability for itself by not making these metal is beyond me.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jackofall poor design and quality
This was in my closet. They are not designed to hit a stud. The nails are slick absolutely too short IF you wanted to hit a stud. When they pull out, they leave HUGE holes in your sheetrock. Not recommended..EVER. If you are building a closet, use hardware that will hit a stud. Use plenty of hardware so when you are done, you will never have any issues. Unless you want to rebuild your closet...again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BuddyinAllyn Great product that is easy to install.
These fasteners are not made to be installed into studs. I made sure with a stud finder that I would miss any studs and still have the fasteners equally spaced. I installed 4' X 16" ClosetMaid shelves using these fasteners and my finished project received rave reviews from from my wife. It was an easy job for an amatuer installer like me. Life is good.

As expected. Fits perfect to my 35 year old Closetmaid system. What else, who else maintain the standard for over 35 years!
