Answer:
The unit can be mounted via the screws (without the over-the-door strap) but be sure to anchor it securely. Depending on your installation method, drywall or other anchors may be needed. Attached is a jpeg of the wall-mount installtion instructions.

What is the difference between a Y and T ironing board. Apparently this item only works with a T board. Thanks!

Answer:
The reference to Y versus T style ironing boards has to do with the shape of the leg supports that hang from the caddy. This iron caddy is meant to support T style legs. Most Y shaped will interfere with upper structure used to hold the iron.

Answer:
These are designed to fit onto doors which are 1-3/8” thick. If it won't fit over your door this can be mounted direct to the door as well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It is what it is Here at Closet Factory Pittsburgh we are always looking for storage solutions for our customers. And we found it with this Over the door ironing caddy. A simple fix to a common problem. Just slip over the top of a door and slide your bulky ironing board in. August 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great space saver! This is a great space saver, and makes it easy to get in the habit of hanging your ironing board and iron after use since its all metal! The only feature I can think of that would make this a better product is a place to store the cord. July 15, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Finally a place for the iron and the board Very easy to put on door and the ironing board finally has a home. I was moving the ironing board out of my way all the time, now it has a convenient spot of its own and even better the iron can be with it. February 25, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Only Good for T-Leg Ironing Boards I was disappointed that the caddy cannot hold Y-leg boards. I have to find something else to use. March 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product This is an inexpensive way to store your ironing board behind a door or on a door. I placed mine on the wall behind the door it holds our ironing board and a couple of cans of starch. We cannot put our iron in the mount there is not enough room between the wall and the door for the iron. October 25, 2015
