Sad to believe that a pile of wood shavings and quarts of glue gave up their lives to make this product.

I read all the reviews, so I was pretty sure what I was getting into. The door had definite flaws, one of the corners was crumpled and the inside is unfinished. I wish someone had prepared me for the odor, however. I bought this for linen storage in my laundry room and had to put scented dryer sheets on every shelf. The smell is still unacceptable. I would recommend this item only in certain circumstances for storing tools or canned goods - nonporous items.
I had this delivered to my house and instead of coming from the local home depot it came from 5 states away and changed trucks many times. I'm amazed it was in as good shape as it was.

ordered online, arrived with a lot of damage. there were no magnets to keep door closed. Contacted customer care was another disappointment offering 15% discount. Should have drove to ikea

This cabinet is a very very basic storage unit no-frills, if that's what you're looking for then this is a great product.

Needed more space for pantry things. Already had another one so got a match. Just reversed the door so the doors meet in middle when cabinets are next to each other. Assembly was time consuming since I didn't want to do it more than once. Door/hinge assembly was hardest. Directions are a bit simplified for this. Cut and added additional shelves. Once it's done not bad.

Shelves are not laminated. Cheaply designed and not same construction compared to a unit I bought several years ago.

I can't believe the positive reviews for this piece of junk.
It was absolutely impossible to not damage it during construction. The pins that have to be hammered in for the fixed shelves should not be long enough to go THROUGH to the other side under any circumstances (and destroy the finish).
The backing is literally a piece of cardboard you nail in.
There were obvious places in the instructions could have been more clear but no one cared.
To give you an idea of how badly made this is, I bought two and am not even going to bother with the second one. I will not buy products from this company again.

We bought 3 matching cabinets for storage. I assumed that I could trust the Closetmaid brand as I trust others that sell DIY furniture. What a mistake. The cabinets were particle board without any wood reinforcement. The metal look handles are plastic and the screws and caams did not match the holes as well as they match in other companies' kits. The only reason I did not return the kits was because they were so heavy to load. This Home Depot customer suggests that Home Depot reevaluate carrying Closetmaid products.
