Please accept our apologies. The brackets should be available online and due to an entry error were left off. We are working to correct the situation. Please allow 5 days for these to appear, and if you still have problems, please submit the problem again with contact information.

How much weight are they rated to hold?

Asked by: Anonymous
The Maximum Load system of hang track, standards, brackets, hardware and shelving is designed to hold 100 lbs. per linear foot when installed properly. It is important that the hang track be installed securely in the studs or concrete following the instructions on the Maximum Load hardware kit and that the standards and brackets are spaced no more than 16 inches apart.

Why don't you put accessory choices on your item pages?

Example: On the 84" heavy duty standards, there should be accessory choices for brackets of different lengths. You could also include screws and wall anchors most commonly used with this product. You could also show options for shelving choices, such as melamine, wood or wire shelves. That would make searching for accessories much easier and faster than it is now.

Do I need to screw these for structural strength?

I realize that I need to screw the horizontal track to the studs or top plate every 16". The standards then hang from the horizontal track. Am I correct in saying the vertical standards need to be spaced on 16" centers? Do I need to put additional screws in the vertical standards for strength, or do I have all of the strength I need with the horizontal track being properly secured? In that case the vertical standards would hang from the horizontal track with no additional screws in the vertical standards. I could screw the vertical standards to the studs if necessary. Please advise. Thank you.
Asked by: Jeff
Yes the standards and brackets must be no more than 16 in. apart center to center. For maximum strength we highly suggest you put additional screws in the vertical standards as well. So first install your hang track, second install your vertical standards, third your brackets and lastly your wire shelving.

Customer Reviews

84 in. Silver Maximum Load Shelving Standard is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from good quality, very expensive Unfortunately, I bought all individual pieces, rather than a whole system/unit without doing alot of research. I did want the maximum load, but did not understand that the rails had to be 16 inches apart/ so to get 84" of shelving - I needed 5 of these, then 5 supports per shelf, and I had 5 shelves per section that was not exactly easy to put togehter. This in turn cost about $400 for one 84" 5 shelf system. I turned around and found a much easier to assemble, deeper shelving system at Home Depot for $85. That provided just as much storage in just as much of a flexble system. Its my fault that I didn't do the reseach; but for the price, I just can't recommend this product.
