Use it all the time, the close mesh is a must. Not much falls through and things are much more stable when placed on top. Easy to work with and has a tough finish.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by btgib Fantastic. Great for the price. Easy to use, easy to clean.
These shelves are great. I bought long ones. Very sturdy and easy to use, easy to carry and load and unload.
In fact I'm using 2 as a barricade to keep my puppy in the den - the space is too long for a child or pet gate and I can step over these, see through these, etc.. When I'm done with the puppy stage, I'll use them as shelves.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by swamper8 These shelves hold no weight at all and closetmaid offers no support solutions
I'm shocked to see how many positive reviews there are for this product. I am a engineer and have well refined DYI skills. I installed this 20" shelving in a standard 36" wide closet. I fastened it at three points on the rear wall and both the front/left & front/right corners using closet made hardware. I placed a SINGLE 5LB bag of sugar in the "middle-left / middle-center / middle-right " of this rack and it deflected down 3/4 of an inch!! These shelves have NO STRENGTH what so ever.
Closetmaid offers shelf support brackets for 12"/16"/20" shelves, but the support bracket reaches to the front of the shelf, the absolute strongest part. (Where the 90 bend is) This shelf needs support IN THE MIDDLE and they offer no solution for that. The 12" or 16" support cannot be finagled to support the middle of the 20".
What should have been a simple 2 hour project will now take me all week. I have to create some support structure for the middle of my (four) shelves without it looking all ridiculous.
Unless you need to store your feather collection I'd steer waaaaay clear of the 20" version of this.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by marineguyNY Works great as refrig/freezer shelf
Same with the hooks.( see hook review) Cut the shelf to fit inside of freezer, painted exposed metal ($1.50 white paint) where I cut the wire to the right dimensions laid the shelf on the hooks. Works inside regrig or inside freezer.

First off, the good: The wire shelving is super easy to install. Home Depot will also cut it to length for you in store at no additional cost. So the only tools you'll actually need to install it are a drill, a tape measure, and a level.
I used this for extra closet storage space, and installed three shelves that were about 2' wide each. The rated load capacity is stated to be 60 lbs, which I'm assuming is supposed to be distributed across the entire 6' of the original shelf. I hadn't noticed the load rating before I bought the shelves, so I can't complain about not being able to load up more than 20 lbs per shelf. However, when I put 16 lbs distributed fairly evenly across one of the shelves, the entire shelf became severely bowed. It's strong enough in the side-to-side direction, but the front-to-back needs some serious reinforcement (see pictures). That was only at 80% of the claimed load capacity of the shelf.
The 12" shelving offered by Closetmaid has the same load rating per unit length, so if you don't have oversized boxes, it may be better to go with the 12" or 16". The only thing the 20" is good for is pillows, linens, or something else very light yet bulky.
I suppose I could add a layer of plywood, but it would just look tacky. I should have made built-ins out of painted plywood and solid wood brackets. It would look nicer and would have been cheaper since I wouldn't need the specialized Closetmaid hardware to mount it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Honey best Linen Closet Shelf
I needed a new linen closet. I was worried that a solid wood shelf would not let the air flow around my sheets and blankets, so these shelves seemed to be the perfect answer. I was right, they are perfect and they look great, the price was very inexpensive.
