Answer:
Yes. The 25" tower will protrude if you are using it on the lower section, which is deeper. The top of the tower unit is identical in depth to the narrow tower unit.

The Impressions Corner Unit is designed to work with both size towers. It does not, however, line up perfectly with either one, but works extremely well.

Specs for the corner shelf kit indicate a dept of 28 inches. Specs for the corner organizer indicates a dept of 28.7 inches. One fo the professional images shows the corner organizer unit between 2 towers and a corner shelf kit on top. Is the corner shelf dept also 28.7 inches? I am confused as to how the corner shelf will fit if it's dept/lenght is less than the corner organizer dept/length. Please confirm the depts of each component

Not sure what you mean by corner organizer unit. Corner shelf sits out 28" from the wall. You don't use it with a "corner unit" if that's what you mean. It's a separate option. With the corner unit, you just stack two of those together and you're done. Very easy. It will work. The shelf has the same dimensions minus a fraction that will be taken up by the brackets to hang it.

Answer:
No. It is exactly the same size as top of the unit. If you are handy you could cut it down but you will NOT be able to put it in from the front of the unit. Try a straight shelf at the back on the side that has the pillar at the back.

Answer:
Unfortunately, there is approx. 5/8 inch difference in the two shelves, and no way in the corner unit to mount an additional shelf. The current shelves shown are in a fixed position to ensure strength of the unit.

Does this corner shelf have to be used with closet organizers or can it be used directly on corner wall? Is it sturdy enough to hold a television?

Answer:
No, I would not put a TV on it, mainly because it will be difficult to get the rod firmly affixed to the wall to handle the weight. Might work with a small TV though if you can find a stud or use heavy duty drywall anchors...

Answer:
If you put it into studs you should do fine. The wood is sturdy, the brackets are great but plasterboard alone won't handle the weight. If you have a flat panel I would recommend a metal, adjustable mount.

The unit is designed to be used with 2 of our tower units (to form the corner structure.) It is not designed or intended to be a stand-alone corner shelf.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Terrific closet solution Very happy with this product. Utilized this item in conjunction with it's counterparts (6 drawers, 3 towers with 2 straight bars, 1 shelf, 2 curved bars) to create a custom storage system for our walk-in closet. All items assembled rather quickly and easily. I was able to put together and install the entire arrangement (see picture) in less than a day. I'm very happy with quality of the product. Wood appears to be durable and the finish was a good quality. I also added the laminate flooring which was from Home Depot. Overall I am very excited for how the project came out and have had many positive comments from those who have seen it. June 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 3 corner shelf kit I purchased the 3 shelf corner unit what a mistake, parts were chipped and not easy to put together, brackets are maid of plastic and cracked right in half when being assembled. What a waste of my money. August 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice looking, but installation mishaps. I ordered many items from this line to convert a spare bedroom into a walk-in closet. Two of these, specifically. The installation instructions assume that you are installing everything flush against the wall, which is not the case with most people, as I have moulding along my floor. It took many adjustments to get all of this to fit together properly because of this. I had to remove the two towers this connected to from the wall to reposition everything a couple times to get it right. And, again, because it is unable to sit flush against the wall, the brackets included to secure it to a wall stud would not work. I had to go purchase large shelf brackets that extended far enough out to reach it for support. When finished, it all looked great, but you need to piece everything together carefully before you permanently affix anything to any walls. The second corner I did worked out ok using this method, just be careful it doesn't fall over in the meantime. May 22, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not a one person install Trying to install this to the two base units is definitely a 2 person job especially since most walls are not perfectly square. I damaged one shelf and got a knot on my head trying to put the upper most one on. Do not try and install if you've already secured your base units to the wall as one reviewer suggested as it takes numerous adjustments to get it to fit property. Fortunately I was able to use the damaged shelf as the bottom shelf and the damage is not seen. May 3, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great as a Bridge Between Units Does NOT work as a shelf for the corner unit. I wanted a sturdier unit so I used the corner units and cut this up so I could double stack my books. Wish it had mentioned it on the package. January 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Much More Difficult Install than Corner Units I installed this corner shelf unit with two corner rounder rods underneath. I recommend this product for more adept DIYers because the install is much more difficult than using the large corner units instead. I used corner units in my last house and they're a piece of cake. Here, the wife wanted more hanging room so I went in this direction. The challenge is that this kit is designed to be hung between two towers on adjacent walls and so those towers must be exactly 28" away from each wall. It's very difficult to get those towers exactly 28" too because you have to mount the towers to the wall first, you're working in tight quarters and almost certainly your drill holes on the wall will pull the tower unit slightly one way or the other. It's also possible your walls may not be entirely plumb. The recommendation here is to get the mounting screws for the towers in place but don't firmly affix them to the wall until the corner shelf in is place. You want the tower mounting screws to be in the wall but a little play in the towers is helpful if, when the tower is built, you are running a bit short on space. If the towers are not firmly affixed to the wall yet, you'll be able to push them out the short distance you need to make the corner shelf fit. But do put the mounting screws in so you've got the stability you need to install the corner shelf - just don't screw them in all the way. Another issue has to do with aesthetics. I have baseboard in my closet, as you likely will, so the towers will butt up against this baseboard on the floor of the closet and thus your towers will sit out from the wall maybe 1/4". However, the shelf kit has brackets that need to be affixed to the wall, so this pulls the shelf back towards the wall. The end result is that the shelf doesn't fit flush with the front of the towers. How does it look? It does look OK, especially if you are consistent about doing all your towers and corner shelves in exactly the same way. So, with all these caveats in mind, I wish you good luck should you choose to install these. July 8, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good shelf. Good enough shelf in terms of cost, quality, strength. This is not what I call an add-on shelf. I was able to find a way to make it work but this shelf needs to be installed when you are building your new closet, not after. February 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Don't cut corners! The Impressions Corner Shelf Kit was a little tricky to install due to the non-square corners of the wall. If you're doing the Corner Rounder Closet Rod you should definitely do the Corner Shelf Kit to finish it properly. July 24, 2012
