Customer Questions & Answers

Studs are available. How do you use wall clip on a stud backing?

Would like to use studs where available. Can use dry wall when necessary.
Asked by: butch
Clip the plastic "anchor" off, use just the nail. Works good.

All the shelves using this system collapsed from the top shelf down.

I have a feeling over many years, the plastic may become a little brittle and couldn't hold the weight from the top shelf. It was like a domino effect and created quite a mess to clean up. All the plastic clips snapped below the screw leaving the screw and the remaining plastic in the wall. How do I now fix this? I can try to remove the plastic clip from the wall but the plastic expanded somewhat once inside. Can I just put the same size back in there and try to rehang the shelves?
Asked by: DotP
Most likely, the insertion hole in the drywall will be enlarged after removing the wall clips and should not be used for future installations.

I was a bit skeptical on the purchase initially due to the redesign of the clip doing away with the original screw and anchor. I was impressed with the easy of use but I did miss the flexibility of the old screw design which allow use in studs.

Use a hammer and punch and go straight down a level line and set the clips , fast, neat and confident of there gripping power. Makes the job go by much faster then the old faschion way.

Hold well in drywall (don't make the hole to big) and if into studs, just clip the plastic piece off and use only the nail. My projects never seem to be "done", and these clips allow easy moving for the next "phase"

My original clips pulled out of the wall after like 15 years or something (I've lived here seven) and I was trying to fix it. I ended up replacing the nails with screws.
