Wow! This concept is great! This weekend I put in a new closet organizer for my daughter. I used this system and I was very impressed with the ease of installation and the flexability it gives you. You can use shelves, drawers, corner shelves, baskets, slide out for belts, ties etc.., and of course, rods for hanging clothes. As you will see from my pictures it gives you a wonderful range of options to choose from to fit your closet needs. The cool thing about this system is that it is a hang system. You install a hanging bar into the studs and then just hang the panels on the bar. Time to put it all together. It's really that simple. Of course with every closet comes a little modification, but if you are even just a little handy, this should be no problem. I highly recommend this product. Give it try, I think you'll like!
Cheers, and happy closet building!

I am female and I was able to install 2 of these in my spare bedroom closets. It wasn't really difficult, just remember if you add the Doors use the small shelves where the doors will go. If you install drawers, didn't seem to matter what size shelf was used. I like the classy look they gave the closets verses the wire organizers, of course they cost more as well. I used only doors and shelves in 1 room and doors and drawers in the other. You may not see it from these pictures but I did purchase the shelves which go above the clothes racks as well. I think it just gives it a more finished look and also gives you more room to store things. I love the look of these units.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rebs Excellent Product, Easy to Assemble and Sturdy!!
I love my new closet!, my husband is deployed and didn't have him to do this for me. I read all the reviews and decided to go to Home Depot to purchase it instead of delivery. Small boxes fit in my Honda civic with the back-seat down. I assembled a shoe rack, two 12 inch shelves and the 25" shelf three rod closet. Took me 4 hours with little distraction from the kids. Thank you very much for the hard ware provided and the preset holes and screw assemble stuff!!! This made this project possible and envied by everyone who viewed my fb post. see the attached before and after pics- LOVE IT!!.

I am in a unique position to review the Closetmaid Selectives system because this is the 3rd closet we've put a closet system into, and this is the third type of system we've used. So I can compare.
The first closet we did was the master, and we hired a local company to install it. If you can afford to do that, do it, because you'll get the best quality that way.
The second closet we did was one of the smaller bedrooms, and we used the Martha Stewart system. It is also good but it only hangs from the wall studs. I sometimes worry we're placing too much weight on the system.
For our third closet we used the Closetmaid Selectives system because it has the benefit of sitting on the floor, and being screwed into the wall, which makes me feel like it can support more weight.
The quality is good, but not perfect. For example, if you cut the laminate shelves with a circular saw, the laminate could chip off on the corners because it's a pretty thin coating of laminate. But done carefully and with a steady hand, there was no chipping. Also, some of the drawers are not exactly squared up, no matter what we did to try to tweak them.
I suggest you lay out the design of your system before you assemble it. If you see from my photo I was able to get a basket, 2 10 inch drawers, and 2 5 inch drawers into the middle tower. The instructions didn't tell us how to do that but we were able to figure it out, by mapping it out before assembling. You have alot more flexibility to create the system you want if you don't follow instructions exactly.
I had called Closetmaid's customer service 3 times before buying to ask them some technical questions and I was happy with their customer service. I also like that we were able to download the install manuals from their website before buying to see what exactly the installation would require.
All in all, the system is not 100% perfect but it's very good for the price.

I recently completed changing a 5' x 7' (approx.) walk-in closet into a dressing room style closet. Like others, I ordered my product on-line to eliminate the hassle of getting it into my car and then into my house. Having said that, utilizing that option is not without its drawbacks as the boxes are not packaged any differently than you would find them in the store, so there was damage, especially on the corners. I called the manufacturer (they supply a number), explaining the problem and they sent (2) new shelves at no cost whatsoever and they arrived very quickly in perfect condition--within a few days. In fact, they will replace anything that got damaged during shipping or even if you opened a box purchased at a store and there are damaged pieces, so no worries. I did end up using those shelf pieces at the very top where they don't show. Assembly is not rocket science, but it helps to organize all the bits and pieces before starting the install. And please don't forget to secure both towers to the wall for safety! I ordered (2) of these sets; (4) drawers (but only used 3); and (1) 3-shelf bookcase. As many have mentioned, there are not enough shelves in these units and you cannot purchase them separately. Hence the purchase of the 3-shelf bookcase. I basically cannibalized that unit using all (3) of the shelves where needed and (1) of the side panels for the "bridge" across the two towers (I cut it down to fit my needs). I also had the other side panel cut down at Home Depot, attached (4) casters to the bottom and two drawer handles to the front and use it to store my workout shoes in the 10" of dead space under the bottom shelf. I bought a white laminated shelf and had it cut to size and did the same thing for under the second tower. I used the small bit left from that shelf and attached it to the back of the rolling shoe shelf to prevent them from falling off the back. The Selectives drawers are beautiful and, I believe, make what could end up looking like utility room shelving into something much classier. The drawers only take 15 minutes each to assemble and install and they aligned perfectly for me. They also glide effortlessly and are quite roomy. By the way, I am a woman in my 60's and assembled all of this with no help--even lifting the top units onto the bottom units (though I wouldn't recommend that). I hope the pictures I have uploaded help anyone else who is looking to purchase these units. I am truly enjoying my "new" closet!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kathy I love my new closet !
I purchased the T4 and T3 towers and drawers for both ...they were fairly easy to put together , I did the drawers all by myself and after the first one they were a breeze. I would have to say the most difficult part was the hanging of the rods , my closet was not wide enough to use both the way that they were on the box so it took a bit of fooling around to get them the way I wanted ..I can't stop staring at my closet ! Its a DREAM ! I even was able to put my flat screen inside , so was able to free up space in my room getting rid of the table that had been holding it. If you order ask them to package yours extra well as I did have to send back the first boxes that were broken ...however Home Depot got the second set right out to me. I would recommend this set.

I went to Home Depot to get an idea of what products I wanted to order (shoe shelving, drawers, etc.). I then ordered product online since shipping was free. These boxes are heavy so shipping was a lot easier than putting these boxes in a cart and getting them in my truck. I installed a wooden support since I didn't hit a 2 x 4 when installing the clothing rail. I would not use just a molly as a means of support. Very easy to put together. I installed this closet along with the shoe tower and drawers with a little help from my 10 year old daughter (handing me tools). Absolutely love it.
