Answer:
Yes, it can mount to studs or they give you those toggle anchors if you are unable to mount on studs. I went to extra trouble to configure my organizer on almost all studs. They give you enough hardware to fully mount to stud and/or anchoring.

Answer:
yes you should hit at least 1 stud with each horizontial bracket, the rest with toggle bolts, there are anchors on the market I would use to install if no studs could be found. Remember you may have to drill a hole to hit a stud.

Yes... Just use the wood screws. At least 2 holes will line up with studs. I maked where the studs were then lined up where to mount.

Answer:
Yes, the provides screws will mount to the studs when placed properly into a stud. For hollow walls, anchors are provided as well as Toggles. I would suggest the Toggles for maximum hold. It is a little more work but the end result is stronger.

Hello Wallace, this might be too late a response for your needs but I felt compelled to answer as it may help other prospective buyers. The kit comes supplied with all the mounting hardware you need for either stud mounting, wall board or most other applications. I have installed a couple of these and if I hit a stud that is great and I use the applicable hardware but if I just drill into open space behind the wall board I again have the hardware I need. They are so sturdy and using the hangbars really healps distribute the weight evenly and believe me I have hung a lot of weight on these. Read Less

Answer:
You don't have to mount on the studs. It comes with Molly sleeves for anchoring on drywall. If you follow the minimum spacing allowance for the brackets, you will be fine. There is a max lbs load for the shelves however.

I don't have an exact amount but ours is full to the brim and we haven't experienced any sagging. We did add 1 more of the C or hook brackets (http://www.homedepot.com/p/ClosetMaid-SuperSlide-3-7-8-in-Closet-Rod-Support-Bracket-5629/100036913#) and that has given me better peace of mind.

The closet rods holds a lot of weight on one 6 foot section holds the clothes for my wife and I. I have several pairs of jeans shirts and even uniforms for our job. A comparable wooden rod would be flexing from the weight.

Answer:
The closet rods are designed to support the typical weight of clothing with the closet rod supports installed no greater than 36" apart. If heavier garments are being hung, simply increase the number of closet rod supports and space them closer together to reduce any closet rod deflection. Be sure that the hang track and standards are properly secured following the installation instructions.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great adjustable shelf kit I found the multiple ways to set this up very helpful to match the layout I wanted in the two closets in my bedroom. June 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Closet for life! Should have bought this long ago! Will give you the ability to add storage as you need it. April 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy install, low price, not solid This was very easy to install as long as you have a new hack saw blade and cost much less than other similar products. The easy installation and low price does come at a cost, the shelves are not anchored securely, they wiggle. I don't think they will fall off but they do sway. They are adequate for a bedroom closet but would not recommend them for an application requiring them to hold lots of weight. April 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome!!! Love, Love, Love this organizer. I'm no carpenter, so it took my daughter and I about 3 hours to install. Hanging the top rails were the hardest part because we couldn't find the studs. Once the top rails were up, we sailed through the rest of the project and now my daughter has the best closet in the house... I highly recommend this closet organizer. July 28, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Closet This closet was pretty easy to put together even though it was my first time. I ended up using it in my garage (no sheet rock) on the wall ! All I did was use different screws since the unit comes with the screws to be in a house. Its a sturdy closet and good quality for the money! April 3, 2015
