Yes. Make sure you hit as many studs as you can and use drywall anchors where you can't hit a stud.

Answer:
Yes, but you must ensure that you secure it well by installing the header into a stud. Carefully follow the instructions included with the Closet Maid systems. If you cannot locate the stud use Molys.

Answer:
the track at the top keeps everything lined up in parallel fashion. I "thought" about mounting the track at both ends and after mounting the riser pieces, removing it and returning it to HD.

Answer:
The hanger at the top by design takes a large portion of the load - if you are planning on putting anything at all heavy on the shelves I would recommend you use the top track.

Answer:
If I understand your question,. Can you use the top insert ? You can but it's not a wise choice. The lower you go the better strength you get for holding.
Now if it's regarding the hanger it self no you can not put these straight on the walls. This is what the standard is for, and yes you can attach them straight to the wall put have them into a stud ( 2X4 ) . Hope this helps.

Answer:
It is highly recommended that you use a hang track for a couple of reasons. One is that it gives additional support once the shelves are installed and items are put on the shelves. Two it will help keep all the standards at the exact same height so the shelves stay straight.

Answer:
Don't know but my shelves are on 16" centers. They hae quite a bit of boxes on them. Be sure to drill 2 1/2" screws into the studs of the walls. Get a stud finder if you don't have one.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My garage is organized. Love the new shelves. Easy to install and strong! doesn't look cheap. My wife after me to clean and organize the garage. Once completed even I said "yea baby". August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Space and time saver We put hardwoods in our house two years ago and we did not wanted to put our belongings in storage while the work was going on down stairs. So this product was the answer for us. One side wall and back wall are filled with these shelves and brackets. The horizontal bracket keeps the risers straight (provided you put it up level) for you to screw them into the wall studs. The 12 and 16 inch shelves work great for the different sizes of boxes we had our stuff in. Once we moved back in the house, the empty shelves were not empty long. A lot of the Holiday decorations that are in the attic are on the shelves now and other household items used infrequently are on them too. The nice thing about these shelves is they are not fixed once you put it up. If you decide later to change the distance between shelves it is not a big deal except for removing items from shelf to shelf. The down side is the cost. One 16" arm bracket costs $7, 1- 12" bracket is $6, The risers are $11 a piece, the horizontal bracket at the top is $22. I have 3 - 6'x16" shelves, 2 - 6'x12" shelves. So in a 6ft wide area it takes 1, horizontal piece, 5 risers (on 16" centers), 25 arm brackets totaling $175. I have 4 sets of these in my garage. Everything (almost) is up off the floor and I can get both cars in the garage now. July 26, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great organizing method Installed this in my closet to help organize the clutter. Was very impressed with the whole set up, can be a bit spendy if you trick it out and make shelves bigger and deeper (16 & 20 in.) but as me, I ended up installing this product in all 4 closets. Makes everything customizable and organized. August 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Some small chips on finish They need a touch up paint. Appliance white is too white, don't match. July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install This product makes installing shelves easy. You can change the height of your shelves easier. February 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install and works great. Last minute decision to add more closet space and Home Depot had just what I wanted. Easy to install and looks great. Sturdy shelves and plenty of room to hand all the items I wanted. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by provides flexibility I have been using this "system" for several years now in rental property and just love how easy it is to install and the flexibility it provides with the tracks being adjustable to "fit" the requirements. May 3, 2016
