Customer Questions & Answers

Can I cut this product down to 46 inches?

My closet is only 46.5" wide, would this product work?
Asked by: Tcourt
You can cut the shelf shorter. The cut should be made at one bars perpendicular to the wall to make it look right.

I want a corner super slide in the white shelving

Asked by: Anonymous
On the Home Depot website search for Super Slide Shelving Corners. You will see an option for Closet Maid Corner kit which will work. Another way to accomplish your task is to run one straight wire shelf into the corner and then butt up a second wire shelf into the first wire shelf. I find the second method faster and just as strong and it also looks good. This method is shown just to the right of Product Overview when searching Super Slide Shelving kits. Scroll down to Product Overview and just to the right you will see Installation Instructions or Installation Guide. Open those up for instructions for what you want to do. Remember that rarely are corners in house construction 90 degrees. This problem can make a neat corner difficult using either method. Still I find the second method easier when trying to make a corner shelf.

To understand how to install the Super Slide in dry wall and /or into studs do the following. 1. Search for the Super Slide you are interested in at Home Depot 2. Click on the item of interest 3. Scroll down until you see Product Overview 4. Just to the right of Product Overview you should see Installation Guide and In Installation Instructions 5. Click on each of those headings and information will be displayed that will provide information as to how to properly install the Super Slide 6. If you buy the Super Slide kit it will include screws, dry wall anchors, and screws that can be used in your wall studs. I installed three sets of the Super Slide Closet kits 2-1/2 years ago and have never had a problem with the wire shelving pulling out of the dry wall. I did made certain to locate the studs in my closets for the shelf braces. I have the wire shelf's heavily loaded too.

SuperSlide 48 in. W x 12 in. D Shelf Kit with Closet Rod is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 51.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product But Needs Support This shelving is an inexpensive and well built product, HOWEVER, if it is being installed in drywall you need to attach the ends and middle (if long shelf over 4 feet) to studs. Otherwise, with anything on them other than extremely light weight objects will pull loose from the wall. So it's a good choice if you install properly. Remember, drywall is just thick cardboard, even if you have 3/4". ATTACH TO THE STUDS!!!!

Went up easy enough, but, as soon as I starting hanging my blouses it came down. I used zip ties to keep the brackets secure to the shelf. I give a 10 to the zip ties and a 1 to the shelf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great in laundry I needed specific shelving for my laundry room. It had to be easy to keep clean, so I chose the open wire shelf unit. It needed to have a hanger bar for hanging laundry and storing winter coats, this unit was perfect for that! My kids came over on an afternoon and within an hour had it all up and ready to use. The instructions were easy to read and there wasn't much that had to be figured out to put it up fast and easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Practical item Installed this one in my own closet. Strong shelf if mounting clips are altered and set into studs. I had to buy an additional bar support for the clothes. The center was sagging. I don't foresee any more problems though. Easy install and it doesn't look bad.
