Customer Questions & Answers

Is this the same as the hp 550

Asked by: Kim
no far from it. They may look similar but the HP550 is an amazing 1175 lumen light that takes 9 AA batteries. The HP550 may be old tech now but it is still one amazing light. HP550 has over twice the range and roughly 3 times the output.

Where do you put the batteries in.

Asked by: Anonymous
unscrew the tail cap and there is a long plastic battery carrier inside. The carrier should easily slide out. You load the 4 AA cells into this carrier two per side of the carrier. There are plus and minus symbols in the carrier to show you the correct way to install them. Once that is done just slide the carrier back into the light and screw the tail cap back on and you should be good to go.

After removing the tail cap the battery carrier does not slide out/ How can I get it to slide out?

Den, please contact our Warranty Team at 1-800-426-5858 or warranty@coastportland.com. It's possible that the batteries have eroded in the tube of the flashlight.

Flashlight won't work.

I took the batteries out to see what size they were and how many it took. The flashlight was working when I opened it. When I put the batteries back in it did not come back on. There is an arrow showing the direction to insert the batteries. I think I put the batteries in backwards the first time. I tried changing the batteries. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

HP14 Focusing LED Flashlight is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Coast HP14 The Coast HP14 is a very bright light considering it only uses 4 AA batteries and I'm also getting great battery life out of it as well. I have used other Coast products and been happy with them all. It is well built, a liitle heavy, but that's price you pay for a quality product. I live in area that has lots of critters and this light definitely spots them out. It would've been nice if a lanyard was included, but not hard to rig something up pending your needs. I've also been using this on the boat at night and haven't had to use the spot lite since because it's so bright.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged, high end flashlight This is by far the best flashlight for the money! It's extremely durable, bright and very affordable battery wise. It comes with a very nice box and a very rugged case. The flood light to spot light motion is very quick and easy and does not seem to wear out with time. It is Very bright! I have been able to light up a tree line from the middle of a field. The flood light can be used for the immediate area to make it almost as good as daylight. The best part of this flashlight is the ability to use inexpensive batteries...which by the way, has a very good life in this flashlight. Another great feature is that the lens never gets hot. This would be a great purchase for anyone in security, field work or "exploring".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One great flashlight I have seen this item in action. It was droped, got wet, and kicked in one night...still works. I would personaly relate the lenser P14, to a well known flashlight used by many law enforcement officers as well as civilians. With everything taken into account I find the price to be reasonable as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice...... I like a little bigger light, this one is the perfect size, just a bit smaller than a 2-d maglite. Very bright, and the beam adjustment is quick. In spot mode, I can light up the tree line 75 yards away from the house, in flood you can light up a whole room. Anyone looking for a good walking the dog, checking under the hood, or looking under the kids bed for the boogeyman light, here it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product -- what can I say! This product is just as it is decribed. I like the way it feels, and the quick spot and wide adjustment works great. No complaints at all--down to the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Flashlight This flashlight is well constructed and the light output is very bright. The flood provides very even bright light to light up a large area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really high quality the quality of his flashlight is second to none. I could probably run over it with my truck and it would not even scratch. It is blinding bright, it even says do not look into the beam because eye damage could result. I bought this replace a handheld spotlight of 2 million candle power which sucked because the rechargeable battery would not hold a charge after one year. This flashlight is way better than the spotlight. This baby also has a focusing adjustment to make a tighter beam of light when you need it, i just wish focused a little bit more to make into a real spotlight, this will light up like daylight to about 100 feet, beyond that the beam is too wide.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awsome light I've had the smaller 105 lumen coast flashlights and knew at three times the brightness and quality construction this was what i wanted, I was not dissapointed! the only reason i gave a little lower mark on value was the price.
