Customer Reviews

28 in. Steel Mission Fire Pit is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smooth finish and will burn for hours This fire pit assemble took me ten minutes fitting the four cross screws to each leg which attaches to the main body and was pleasantly surprised that all the screw in bolts lined up perfectly…definitely a bonus. The quality of the completed assembled fire pit is what I would have expected. There are no sharp edges that some other fire pits that I have owned. Having used this twice in the last week, I was more than pleased that the wood burnt even and it certainly helps with having the three raised air risers in the base to improve air flow plus it stands a good six inches off the ground allowing better heat dispersion . Setting the fire pit on about a 2 inch layer of sand, I kept the fire fed for about an hour and being metal of course it gets hot so care has to be taken, especially when children and animals are present. The portable screen fits perfectly and it does prevent most of the resulting sparks from escaping, but not all as expected so again some care is required. The supplied vinyl cover fit better than I thought it would and is of a slightly thicker material than others I have had. Despite heavy rain during the time it was left outside (deliberately) for two weeks with no cover over it, it shown no sign at all of rust or tainting. Summing up, it is a reasonable fire pit for the price that does the job as advertised and has a convenient tool for removing the screen guard.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gets the job done We love the firepit and have enjoyed it quite a few times this spring. It looks great, includes a cover and includes a lid lifting tool so you don't burn yourself when you tend the fire. However, it missed the mark in two key areas where this lost a star 1.) Quality- Three of the screws didn't line up on the legs and alot of the metal was bent out of true. 2.) Screen mesh is too big - doesn't really stop embers Still we like the look on our patio and it makes a nice controlled fire on our deck

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Budget fire pit This fire pit is super simple to assemble. Each leg attaches to the main body with 4 hex screws. The quality is not that great, but it is more than adequate for occasional use. The top mesh that catches embers is super thin and easily damaged, so you need to handle it with extreme care. A single hot dog or marshmallow holder is included A vinyl cover is included to protect it when not in use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buyt it Rusted on day two. Cover is very thin and barely fits, gets ripped every time I put it on or take it off because of the sharp corners. The poker literally fell apart immediately - the metal rod would not stay inside the wooden handle, threw it out on day two. The screen barely fits due to poor design. It also rotates while being held in the air to be put in place and is too heavy to maneuver. I would not recommend this under any circumstances.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice This metal frame and metal mesh attractive and practical outdoor fire pit is a nice addition to my patio. Extend your outdoor hours with this three fuel fire pit. Will burn wood charcoal or store bought fire logs. Unit is easy assemble 16 screws to attach legs place about one inch of sand in bottom to evenly distribute heat. Place fuel choice in pit light and place ember guard on top and enjoy the out doors. Comes with vinyl cover to protect from elements when not in use. A ember guard hook is included to safely remove hot ember guard.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Size For Longer Lasting Fires The CobraCo Fire Pit is approximately 2' x 2' inside the pit. It's base is 6 1/2" inches up off the ground. It's base has openings all around it so you can feel the warmth of the fire regardless of where you're sitting. The lid fits easily on the pit and it comes with a long tool to lift the lid on and off after the fire is started, due to it become hot. The pit holds enough firewood to keep a fire going for hours without needing to add more wood. It's sturdy and it only takes 1 person to move it if you wanted to relocate it or move it out of the way for mowing purposes. It comes with a vinyl cover that you can tighten and it fits perfectly over the unit. The manufacturer recommends putting a layer of sand at the bottom of the pit before adding wood or charcoal for your fire.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Product The cover is undersized and extremely thin. It WILL tear on a corner the very first time you attempt to put it over the product. We were so disappointed that we didn't use it for more than a year. In that time it became very rusted. We finally gave it a try, which improved some of the rusty appearance, but the cheap gaff handle fell apart in less than an hour. The mesh hood distorted within an hour of exposure to the fire. At more than $200, there are so many better choices!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice pit I ordered this from HD website and got it took 10 minutes to build it It has a lite black steel frame screened in. I used it on one cool night burned live oak and enjoyed the fire The mission fire pit like all steel will rust with time and use. A recommendation after each fire to use coconut oil and rub on metal screens and frame after fire has gone out to prolong the life of it
