Is there a kit such as this that can produce 5 to10 amp charge rate?

Asked by: mcgyver
For a 5 amp charge rate you would need in the neighbor hood of 80-100 watt panel and double that for a 10 amp rate simple math divide the watts by volts then add about 30-40 pct for panel inefficiencies and such

Even though the batteries are totally disconnected from the RV this charger cannot charge my batteries to full charge. the charger dose not function as described in the manual. the only light I get is the yellow light no green or red. The manual states that when the battery is above 13V the light should be green below 13V volts yellow and below 12V red. no matter what the voltage the light is yellow. When i call the person on the phone seemed to think this was ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised This charger is used to charge a deep cycle battery in my horse stalls. it was easy to mount and easy to hook up. It is mounted (so far) horizontally on the south facing wall until I can make an adjustable mount to put it on the roof. Horizontally works in the winter because the sun is so low, this summer not so much. The reviewer that was missing the quick connect for the charge controller hookup, there was a set of twist connectors in my box to hook up the two ends. You don't need a degree in electrical engineering to follow the instruction sheet and hook up red to red and black to black. The only "con" I have is the apparent lack of an adjustable mounting bracket.

This was a gift I gave to my boyfriend for Christmas, won't be put to use until ice is off the lakes in the spring. He is excited to have it, and it came with an accessory that prevents battery from over charging (not all do).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just right for this application! I bought this 18W solar panel to provide power to a 16" fan to cool my greenhouse. It's connected to an 12v RV battery which runs the fan through a thermostat. The panel worked well from the start and generates power even under overcast conditions. I especially like the controller that comes with it to limit the voltage to the battery @ 14.2v and prevents back discharge during cloudy periods. It works very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! Fits on your dashboard while traveling and well made...used it with a deep cycle marine battery while camping...plenty of power...while shopping for it, I saw similar ones for $200...get this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 12 Volt charger This 12 volt solar charger is placed on the south side of the roof with the provided mounting tabs and is used to power my solar hot water generator and charge up my various 12 volt batteries. The amperage output of the Solar panel is a constant 7 amps in bright Sun and my pump pulls 1.2 amps for about 2 hours a day so there is plenty of electricity to keep up a couple of 12 volt batteries. This a water proof item that you can place and forget.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DId the job! On a recent trip to a state park in Vermont this panel kept the two batteries in our camper charged for 14 days with a maximum of four to six hours of partial sunlight per day. Enough for led lighting, waterpump, ignitor for propane refrigerator, and one night of heater use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Coleman Product Received product in timely manner. Had some difficulty with wiring instructions even though I understand electricity basics.. Had to call for help twice. Used changer for 3 days camping and didn't have to use other source (generator) to charge battery. Quality is very good, but would liked to have received some type of frame to support the panel. Used 6 ft step ladder to support it. Will have to build my own.
