This product is rated for charging USB devices requiring no more than 2 Watts of power. Many smartphones and tablets have much higher power requirements.

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works as Advertised!!! Works as Advertised!!! The best tip I can give you to operate this solar charger is, before first use, take the batteries out of the charger and charge them in a household NiMH Battery Charger. Add the Batteries back in. Then, Once a month, I take the Solar Charger outside and top the batteries off. Usually takes less than one hour in Bright Sunshine. The Second Tip is, I replaced the batteries that came with the Solar Charger with Tenergy Low Self Discharge AAA Rechargeable batteries. Much better batteries than what came with the unit. Also please understand that to charge something a Tablet size with this Solar Charger, You will need to have a Charged spare set of 5 AAA as the 1 set of 5 AAA's in the Solar charger are not enough to Completely Charge a Large Tablet. You will use about .25 of the charge of the Spare Set Recharging the Tablet. Also, keep in mind while you are charging your Solar Charger Batteries, you can not charge any device. Basically, Charge the Solar Batteries in the Day, Recharge your Device at night. That's what I do. Other than that, This Solar Charger is Great and hasn't failed me yet. Hope my tips encourage you to buy this great little Solar Charger!!!! January 26, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Plain doesn't work I bought two of these together. Both have failed to ever charge any of my devices. ( galaxy tab and iPhones ). I even tried to swap the batteries thinking is was a simple fix. Good idea but this product simply does not work as advertised. I will be returning them both. May 28, 2014
