Is there a blocking diode in the panels to keep battery bank from draining back into the panels?

I have two 55 watt 12 volt amorphous solar back up kits. I am adding a 12 volt wind turbine with its own charge controller with input for both wind and solar. Can I combine the six solar panels into a single positive and negative input for the hybrid controller. Will the battery bank drain back thru the panels at night if I do not use the coleman 7 amp controllers? I have four deep cycle marine batteries wired in parallel for a 12 volt 480 amp hour battery bank. I am very pleased with the solar panels. I curently split the bank and use the each of the two 55 watt generators to charge them. I want to combine and wire all of the compnents into one hybrid system. The wind turbine is a 12 volt capable of 1600 watts. It is a PMG wind turbine from Missouri Wind and Solar.
Asked by: Johnboy
Each panel has a blocking diode installed in the junction box to ensure that no energy feeds back into it.

Customer Reviews

55-Watt 12-Volt Amorphous Solar Back Up Kit is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an Excellent Way to Start Using Solar Energy! The Coleman product is sturdy, easy to put up and take down, and great for camping trips. The wiring is also easy to navigate and it puts out a fair number of watts under optimum conditions. The buyer should be aware that overcast days will not put out the full 55, but I am impressed with the number of watts even on cloudy days! If one wants to get started on Solar Energy (and the whole country really ought to), this is the perfect kit with which to begin! I am very impressed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value. It came with all of the cables and connectors you could possibly need. You need a basic understanding of electronics to make the most of it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could be better We purchased this unit instead of the 10W for our gate opener. The rack supplied to mount the panels is simply junky. The rack "distorts" very easily and then the panels will not fit into the slots. Ended up redoing the rack which took a considerable amount of time. They need to improve the rack assembly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The 55-WATT SOLAR BACK-UP KIT Is excellent The 55-WATT SOLAR BACK-UP KIT Does exactly what it says it will do. I think this works better then a generator (no extra fuel needed) and the others around you do not complain about the noise of a generator running. In short If you want power away from home this is ideal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solar. Kit Once you figure out that you can manually bend the cross bar for the frame, it is a good off-grid kit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works really well The shipping was a little slow and it doesn't charge my trailer battery quite as quick as I hoped, but I would recommend this.
