Showcase your carpentry skills using this PureBond Walnut Plywood to create exquisite woodworking pieces that exhibit the warmth and allure of real hardwood. This project panel is an affordable alternative to formaldehyde-laden plywood and features a soy-based PureBond technology that won’t subject interior environs to toxic fumes over time. The decorative veneer on the face of the 1/4 in. x 4 ft. x 4 ft. panel is plain-sliced from a walnut tree sustainably grown in the U.S., displaying authentic wood grains that make workpieces come to life. The 3-ply sheet is constructed with 100% wood, featuring a yellow poplar substrate that’s assembled with alternating cross bands for utmost strength, rigidity and flatness. Water-resistance allows it to tolerate moisture better than UF-constructed plywood and the multilayered assembly makes it less likely to warp than solid wood. For a darker finish, simply coat the hardwood veneer with a stain (sold separately) that matches your preconceived vision.

California residents: see   Proposition 65 information

  • 3-ply project panel is assembled with a smooth, patch-free walnut face veneer applied to only the face side of this panel; the back of the panel is not intended to be exposed
  • PureBond hardwood plywood is an environmentally friendly, cost-competitive alternative to panels manufactured with urea formaldehyde (UF), which may degrade air quality over time
  • Contains 100% natural wood bonded with a food-grade soy-based adhesive that does not emit toxic air contaminants
  • The decorative top veneer, measuring approximately 1/50" thick, exhibits the beauty and timeless quality of natural hardwood and is suitable for painting or staining
  • Water-resistant composition has a higher moisture tolerance than UF panels and is less likely to warp than solid wood
  • Allow panel to acclimate to interior climate conditions for several days before customizing - for interior applications only
  • For best cutting results, use an 80-tooth (or greater) table saw blade intended for sheet goods or a carbide-tipped circular saw plywood blade

Answer:
Hello,
The big difference between the two is the number of ply’s that make up the panel. A ¾” PureBond will have 7 ply and a ¾” EuroPly will have 15 ply. The EuroPly edge is meant to be exposed – not trimmed out with lumber or edge banding.

Don't know for sure what this question is asking, but I'll take a shot at it. Mine has the veneer that looks like it was ripped in half and then laid over and joined together. So the veneer matches from one side to the other. This is the same on both sides.

Answer:
Hello,
The color and grain will be similar – but not out of the same tree for exact matching. I would suggest you do a special order through the store requesting sequence matched walnut panels. The sequenced panels will be from the same tree. Contact kcrisp@cfpwood.com for more details.

This would be a good question for calling the Home Depot store you purchase from or want this shipped too. These questions go out to customers like yourself and we don't know the correct answers for questions like this.

It's best to ask a manager at your local HD or email customer support with that type of policy question. I can only guess that because these are so inexpensive, you'd have to order many to make it worthwhile.
The whole point of these quarter panel "project boards" is their convenient size for small projects.
But I KNOW you CAN get them shipped to you if that's more convenient for your needs.

Hello,
You can special order a thicker panel at the store. We produce panels up to 1 ¼” thick. You will need to talk with an associate at the Prodesk to place the special order. You may also contact me at kcrisp@cfpwood.com for more details.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 53 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cheaper then lumber One sided walnut. I'm not sure if I read the description right or not but, was a little surprised it was one sided. May of been my fault. May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High Quality This plywood looks great, and is completely flawless on the A side. The B side doesn't look bad at all either. It shipped in a sturdy box, with several protective sheets of cardboard surrounding the plywood. The veneer is a little thin (<1/32"), so you'll have to make sure not to sand too much except for a light finishing pass. The veneer doesn't really need much finishing anyway, and I jumped right to 220 grit for it. The veneers sandwich three thicker plies on the interior. I didn't find any voids at all either. There's a very very slight warp in my sheet, but nothing that framing it with some solid walnut won't fix easily. This is going to make for one awesome looking piece of furniture when I have everything together! May 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cheaper then lunber Worked great for my cabinet. A lot easier and cheaper then buying lumber. May 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cheaper then lumber I've used these all over the house so far and will continue to buy more. May 24, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Cross your fingers that you get usable plywood I had high hopes based on the reviews. My Home Depot does not carry Purebond plywood, and I don't have another local source of quality plywood, but I'd heard very good things about Purebond, so I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered 2 sheets of 3/4" walnut plywood, both sheets 4' x 4'. Shipping was $99, so I expected them to arrive in good shape. Unfortunately, all four corners of both sheets were smashed and there were a couple big dents along the sides of one sheet. I had to cut about 2" off both sides of each sheet. In addition, one of the sheets had overlapping plies about 8" from one end that made the entire sheet bulge by about 1/8" along its entire length, so I had to cut that entire side off Both sheets also had a bit of a warp, which I expected, but one was so bowed that laying on my flat workbench, the center was raised by over 1.5". I tried to flatten with water, but was unsuccessful and ended up ruining my project trying to flatten it further. Including shipping the two sheets combined cost over $200, so I'm pretty disappointed that I ended up with about 4/5 of one usable sheet. I've included a few pictures of the problems I saw. I did give it 2 stars, because the quality of the plywood (lack of voids, quality of internal plies, etc.) was definitely better than what I can find at my local Home Depot, but I guess you play roulette on whether you'll actually get a usable piece, and I lost. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BEAUTIFUL AND STYLISH LOOK OF WALNUT HARDWOOD This two foot by four foot light weight all wood veneer construction of this walnut plywood panel from Columbia Forest Products is great cost effective way to add a rich look of walnut to several different DIY carpentry projects. The face veneer on both sides of the panel I received have a beautiful and stylish look even though back side is described as suitable for projects where only one side is visible. March 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good Just received these 2'x4'x3/4" walnut panels. They seem great. Packed well, no damage from shipping. The walnut grain patterns are very nice, no damage at all. Recommend these. August 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasantly surprised I was very skeptical of the price because this was much cheaper than other walnut plywood. However I was pleasantly surprised of the quality. The core and the veneer are good. No damage during shipping. Would definitely buy again. July 19, 2016
