An environmentally friendly soy-based technology is used to secure the 3 plies on this lovely PureBond White Oak Plywood Project Panel, providing a craftsmen workpiece that is as durable as it is beautiful. The formaldehyde-free adhesion compound has a higher moisture tolerance than UF-laden panels and the multilayered construction makes it less likely to warp than solid wood. Furthermore, it won’t release airborne contaminants into your interior space over time, as urea formaldehyde (UF) sheets commonly do, making it a cost-competitive alternative that won’t subject you to harmful fumes. Each 1/4 in. x 4 ft. x 4 ft. panel features white oak veneers that are plain-sliced from domestically harvested timber in a sustainable manner, giving you peace of mind that you are purchasing an Earth-conscious forest product.

Is this product bendable? I need to make some rounded corners for a project.

Is this product bendable? I need to make some rounded corners for a project.
Asked by: Michael
Hello, The plywood is not bendable. There will be some flex in the plywood but not considered bendable. We do have bendable plywood available for special order at the prodesk in store.

Do you just use wood glue to affix this plywood to a furniture project?

Asked by: Lisa
Hello Lisa, That will work in many applications. May need a little more detail to clearly understand how you are trying to affix the plywood to your furniture project. If you would like to discuss further I can be reached by email at

We are looking to put in some budget non-toxic flooring. Do you think this product can handle foot traffic without warping or delaminating?

Our plan is to rip the boards down into planks, glue/nail them down, and paint them white.
Asked by: Joe
Hello, Would not recommend using the White Oak for flooring. It has a thin decorative white oak layer that is not intended to be used for a floor. The intended application is for cabinets, built-ins, shelving, etc. It will not warp or delaminate – however the thin white oak layer is not suited for floor wear.

1/4 in. x 4 ft. x 4 ft. PureBond White Oak Plywood Project Panel (Free Custom Cut Available) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth facing 3/4 in x 2 ft. x 2 ft. White Oak Plywood is the right size for replacing a missing shelf in the bathroom cabinet when we purchased the home in June. The facing need very little sanding to make it smooth for a finishing with MinWax Pecan Stain PolyShade finish. After the first coat only needed lightly remove some rough areas with steel wool; then wipe with a tack cloth. Then apply 2nd coat; was a decent match with the outside of the cabinet finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good buy I'm always a little leery of getting any kind of wood/wood product sight unseen. I was hopeful but expected something a little less than ideal. I was pleasantly surprised at what I got. The panel I got is clear, no flaws or blemishes that I can see. Edges were all fine, no chipping or anything like that. No bows or cups, flat as can be and with straight edges. Came shipped in rather heavy cardboard, sandwiched between two sheets of very stiff and sturdy sheets of cardboard. Haven't come across any voids or other imperfections in the inner plies. Nice clean product and worth the money, not inexpensive but not at all cheaply done either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality item. Received my two 1/2'' x 2' x 4' panels today. Both had damage. The first one looks like someone dragged it across the stack of wood below it. Had a 23" rub mark across the grain. Back (B) has pits with black something in them. The second panel had delamination on A side. B side had same pits as 1st. panel. Home Depot couldn't reach Mr. Thomason on the phone at Columbia Forest Products, Vendor. Project date was promised by May 8th. I really dislike putting my name on the line when other people could care less about their product quality. Hmmm!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from High quality plywood - damaged in shipping This is really nice plywood. Thick veneers with good figure (rare for big box store plywood), great core and no voids that I have come across. Unfortunately it was badly damaged during shipping. There were some big gouges in the sides, the edges were crushed, and it was scratched through the veneer in spots. I had plans to line a box with this, but had to use it for shop jigs/templates instead. Kind of a waste but as I mentioned this is really high quality plywood. If my local Home Depot stocked this, I would buy it all the time. I'm not going to take a chance on shipping again though. Pros:

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easily transported This 3/4in.x 2ft.x4ft. White Oak Plywood is perfect for most small projects. You can carry this size panel in the back seat or trunk. The "half sheet" panel is ideal for handling. Light weight and easy to carry anywhere. The packaging is such that the panel is well protected for shipping and handling. The edges are void free making the edges easy to sand and paint or stain. It’s a water-resistant compilation that tolerates moisture better than formaldehyde-bonded plywood, while the 7-ply layering makes it less likely to warp than solid hardwood. The decorative hardwood panel is assembled with a soy-based PureBond adhesive that won’t emit airborne contaminants over time, as UF-constructed plywood is prone to do. These panels are available in larger sizes. Read Less

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful The panel I received was perfectly straight with no warps, bends, or cracks. For appearance, one side is completely free of any defects. The other side has the less than ideal appearance, but that depends on what kind of look you are going for. Either way, the wood is top of the line. Even the not perfect side is still just about perfectly smooth. If you are concerned about the environment then you will be happy to hear that this uses soy based technology that is guaranteed not to lose adhesion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good looking plywood The major quality of this plywood is in its finish: the grains look and feel nice. The color is much more pale than on the picture, which gives to the panel kind of an "Arctic" feel. The veneer is nonetheless on the thin side. Despite the thin veneer, It is nonetheless easy get a clean cut: I got some very decent results with a Ryobi jigsaw and Bosch blades (Clean Woods). With half an inch thick, it is pretty solid - fine to walk on -, and can therefore be used in a wide range of applications.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good board, but could have been better I bought this 24"x48" panel for the top surface of a desk. The panel was nice and flat, but two of the four corners arrived damaged from shipping. Both surfaces were veneered, though one surface was definitely nicer, with the tight, straight grain I associate with oak. The B side was still good but wasn't quite as nice. Unfortunately, the board was sawed from the wrong side so both crosscut ends were chipped on the A side. The B side wasn't bad and it would have been easier to use that side for the desktop surface, but the A side was so much prettier. Due to the widespread chipping and damaged corners, I ultimately decided to recut the panel and redesign my project to be a slightly narrower desk. If you're going to cut the panel anyway, this is a 5-star product. The oak grain (on one side, at least) is utterly beautiful. But if, like me, you want to use the full 48" length of the panel, it's something less than 5 stars.
