Affordably enhance the aesthetics of your interior space with this beautiful PureBond Aromatic Cedar Plywood Project Panel from Columbia Forest Products. It features decorative hardwood veneers cut from responsibly harvested North American cedar trees, boasting the visual allure of natural wood grains and a pleasant scent that will stir the senses to transform any home or office space. Each 3/4 in. x 2 ft. x 4 ft. panel is precisely cut to exacting standards in a convenient small size to form the foundation for exquisite woodworking creations, including shelves, drawers, cabinets, end tables, toy chests, wall panels and more. The lightweight, all-wood veneer construction features a yellow poplar core substrate layered in alternating cross bands for utmost strength, flatness and rigidity. It’s a water-resistant compilation that tolerates moisture better than formaldehyde-bonded plywood, while the 7-ply layering makes it less likely to warp than solid hardwood. The decorative hardwood panel is assembled with a soy-based PureBond technology that won’t emit airborne contaminants over time, as UF-constructed plywood is prone to do.

I am planning on making box shelves to attach to a wall that will be used for yarn storage (cedar will repel moths.) I need to leave the wood untreated in any way, so I wanted to know if the cut ends will be void-free or full of holes like traditional plywood.

Answer:
Hello,
You will see some opening in the inner plies. Should not have excessive amounts. The edges of the plywood are intended to be covered with edge banding or lumber trim.

Could this be used on a wall? For example, a wood accent wall? If so, do you have any photos of it used this way?

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 51 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for quality looking projects These are B-2 Grade Plywood that is a water-resistant compilation that tolerates moisture better than formaldehyde-bonded plywood, while the 7-ply layering makes it less likely to warp than solid hardwood. The decorative hardwood panel is assembled with a soy-based PureBond adhesive that won’t emit airborne contaminants over time, as UF-constructed plywood is prone to do. These 2 x 4 panels are easily transported in your car. Each ships at approx #15 lbs. The grain can be enhanced with a clear coat sealer or stain. However, they are aromatic and problably should be used unfinished in areas where you want the effect of the "Cedar". February 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice plywood to work with I received this 3/4" x 2 ft x 48 inches Aromatic Cedar plywood a couple ago and I like it a lot. It will be used to make a cedar chest for our downstairs bedroom. The face side has some really good color and grain patterns which will look absolutely fantastic when sealed and edged with some iron on edging. I will buy more of this product in the future to build for items. June 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great for closets I used this in my closets and love it. My house's closets have those white wire metal shelves, so I just cut this product to size and laid it on top of these existing shelves. My clothes now have a flat surface to lay on (no more line-shaped wrinkles in my sweaters) and the entire closet smells wonderful because of the cedar wood aromatic smell. I love it! March 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Terrific plywood! This is a step above the cabinet grade plywood for sure. The veneers are very substantial and look a lot more like a lamination than a solid sheet of ply. I did use fairly large pieces but there were no voids or plugs to be found. Definitely recommended as a more dimensionally stable alternative to solid materials December 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Aromatic moth deterrent This cedar veneer panel is 1/4” thick, 2-feet by 4-feet. It’s light and easy to handle. It gives off a pleasant cedar aroma, which tends to repel moths. I put it in a closet on the back of a shelf so it is four-feet wide and two-feet high and taking up just 1/4 inch of space at the back of the shelf, where we store blankets and sweaters. It was simple to install, and I think it will protect our blankets and sweaters somewhat from moths, which have been a problem for us. It would be relatively simple to empty the closet, remove the shelves and apply several 1/4” x 2’ x 4’ panels to all the walls of the closet with Liquid Nails or a similar adhesive, thus making a cedar closet. When the cedar aroma has dissipated, perhaps in a few years, I will apply some cedar oil to the panel to restore it. For now, it makes our closet smell good, and I believe that it helps to repel moths. July 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice cedar veneer panel I bought a wool sport coat some years back and it was ruined by a moth/moths before I knew it. I've been using hanging cedar blocks since then. Since I just invested in a three season wool suit and hate the smell of moth balls and didn't want to trust just the cedar blocks I decided to use cedar lining on my shelves and on the back wall of my closet. I looked at the packages of individual pieces of cedar closet lining and read the reviews and decided to go with these "handy panels" instead. Installing the panel was a breeze and I'll do the rest of the back wall of the closet soon because they smell nice and go up easily. April 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A super purchase. Easy and convienient. I was really pleased with the way the plywood project panel was packaged. It arrived in perfect condition. June 8, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just Ok, not what I expected I really hesitate to order plywood online because you cannot cherry-pick through the boards; so I was happy that this .5"x2'x4' board arrived in relatively good condition with no major dents and the board was not warped. But that's where my joy ends - upon closer inspection of the veneer, the voids are either not filled at all, not filled completely, or the filler isn't even the same color as the knot. It looks like a toddler filled the holes with play-dough and forgot to sand it down. On the bright side, the grain is really beautiful and nice to look at and the cedar smell is amazing - just don't know how long that will last based on the other reviews. I was going to make a small toy chest or storage box out of this and just seal the plywood with a clear lacquer, but I definitely can't do that with all the flaws. I really feel like my only option is to paint the sides that will be visible and just deal with the imperfections on the inside. April 5, 2016
