This PureBond Walnut Plywood Project Panel features plain-sliced veneers cut from natural timber harvested in a sustainable manner from American hardwood forests, ensuring premium quality, lasting durability and enduring beauty with each sheet. Fortified with a yellow poplar core substrate, the layers of this 7-ply panel are glued together with a cutting-edge PureBond technology derived from soybeans—an environmentally friendly, formaldehyde-free solution that is water-resistant and will not emit airborne contaminants. Precision-cut in 3/4 in. x 2 ft. x 4 ft. panels with burr-free edges, this decorative walnut plywood is perfect for smaller woodworking projects and serves as a cost-competitive alternative to UF-laden plywood, which is prone to degrade indoor air quality over time by off-gassing toxic fumes. The strength and flatness of these panels gives DIYers and professional carpenters the confidence to construct a variety of cabinet-grade gems for a lifetime of dependability and enjoyment.

In the 3/4" thickness, does this plywood stay pretty flat, or does it warp badly like so much plywood does these days?

I ordered 2 4' x 4' panels at 3/4" thickness. Both panels were pretty warped on arrival and didn't flatten any sitting in my dry shop. One warped to the point that laying face down on my flat bench, the center was raised off the bench by over 1.5", so I have to disagree with those saying these panels are more stable than average plywood.

Answer:
Hello Jim,
The panel will be stable. We dry the wood to consistent moisture content before bonding the wood layers together. It is wood and will take on some moisture – but should be very little movement in the panel. The plywood moisture content is similar to what you have in controlled indoor climate when it leaves our facility and should be stored in controlled climate when you receive.

Here's what I found using this type of material for many projects:
On small shop projects like jigs and fixtures, I rarely if ever use edge banding and I've had no trouble with de-lamination. For nicer projects like speaker cabinets and one bench repair, I used solid wood edge banding made in my home shop with a table saw and trimmed with a router or hand-plane.
For one of my daughter's science-fair projects, I used a plain sheet of thin plywood to support her cardboard display, but banded the whole thing with iron-on veneer to keep it rigid and easy to handle.
ALL of those edge banding materials and methods worked beautifully with these panels. Read Less

Hello,
There are several options in banding available. I would make sure that the type you choose is a real Walnut veneer. You can reach me at 800-637-1609 or kcrisp@cfpwood.com to discuss options.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasantly surprised I was very skeptical of the price because this was much cheaper than other walnut plywood. However I was pleasantly surprised of the quality. The core and the veneer are good. No damage during shipping. Would definitely buy again. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BEAUTIFUL AND STYLISH LOOK OF WALNUT HARDWOOD This two foot by four foot light weight all wood veneer construction of this walnut plywood panel from Columbia Forest Products is great cost effective way to add a rich look of walnut to several different DIY carpentry projects. The face veneer on both sides of the panel I received have a beautiful and stylish look even though back side is described as suitable for projects where only one side is visible. March 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great deal. Quarter sheet of 3/4" walnut plywood arrived damage free within a couple of days. This is one of those few things you buy that's actually better than expected. Nicely figured and symmetrical grain; no sapwood; sanded smooth on both sides. Only complaint is that it wasn't cut square. Fortunately, there was one factory corner to use as a reference. This stuff is a bargain if you need only a small quantity. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good Just received these 2'x4'x3/4" walnut panels. They seem great. Packed well, no damage from shipping. The walnut grain patterns are very nice, no damage at all. Recommend these. August 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great quality plywood The plywood was shipped to my address and received it in fine shape. The plywood has 5 layers with the walnut veneer on each side. The veneer has a very nice look to it and will go great with the walnut lumber I purchased. The design on the grain in the wood is also very nice. Each side has it own look to it one side having the look of 3 pieces joined together and the other side has the look of 5 pieces joined together. Very good quality look to it. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best price I found on this product Good quality at the bast price. I would order this again. June 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Suitable for furniture use I got this because I needed to make a set of drawers for an office desk. This project was for someone who really loves Walnut, not just the color but also how the wispy grains trace thin lines across the surface like the swirls of a cloud before an evening storm. Or something like that. The veneer is neither that thick, or as I soon discovered, not resistant to denting force from dropping a 1-foot wooden ruler onto it. This plywood will definitely need a poly or some other tough final coat if the project is going to withstand daily use. April 22, 2016
