I have packages of strips that say will hold up to 16Lbs, if I use 4 (one on each corner) should that be sufficient to hold the 17 lbs?

Answer:
Thank you for asking, we test our products to hold 16 lbs indefinitely to a painted wall surface. We limit the weight at 16 lbs because that is all a properly primed and painted wall can support. Anything heavier runs the risk of pulling the paint or drywall paper off the wall. We stand behind the product being used up to 16 lbs. Thanks again.

Answer:
Thank you for asking. We would not recommend using our strips for this application. Our adhesive is not recommended for fabric or burlap but would work great on mirrors and glass as long as rubbing alcohol is used to clean the surface first. We would instead recommend one of our 3M Spray Adhesives such as our 80 Rubber and Vinyl Spray Adhesive. Thanks again!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Must have for every home! I use these picture hanging strips all around my house. I love them! I especially use them in my toddler's room. He loves to climb and grab everything he can reach. I use these strips for hanging all the wall decorations. He can touch but it doesn't fall or become crooked. I have even used them in my room to hold a head board I designed out of large picture frames. It holds them tightly in place without the worry of falling down or over on us while we sleep. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Be Ready for Things to Break My wife got these command strips to hang up my diploma frame. It seemed like a good idea, and we did not have to put any holes in the wall. I had always heard that command strips were great, so I figured why not. Then one night, maybe 3 or 4 months after we had put the frame up, we had gone to bed, and I heard this loud crash. I walked out into the living room, and there was my diploma frame lying on the floor. Thankfully, it landed on the carpet, and the glass did not shatter, but my wood frame was completely destroyed. If you have ever bought a frame for your diploma, you know how expensive they are. My frame was within the weight limit at around 3.6 pounds. I would recommend not using this product, as anything you hang on these strips risks falling and being damaged, or in my case, destroyed. August 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not so easy to remove! Just pulled a big chunk on paint off my new bathroom. August 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Did not work. I bought a large package of these in black because I didn't want to risk damaging a home we lease. As others have mentioned my artwork cam crashing down. I even added two sets for a less than 8lb piece thinking the 16lb strength would assure it would not fall. It fell. I am sad because I really want these to work!! August 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love them! Not sure what the other reviewers' situations were, but I love Command Strips. I finally read the instructions a while back and realized you must prepare surface - I take cotton ball with a little alcohol on it. Wipe the wall. Let dry. Apply strips. Wait few min, may BE longer then hang the object. Works GREAT for me! :-) August 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Ripped apart my posters when I attempted to remove them. I had to end up leaving the horrible things on to keep my posters intact. August 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Will not hold up a 6 oz. picture. I am a huge believer in the 3M brand and swear by their products for both the family yacht building business and personal drag racing hobby. This product falls so short of their claims I am curious this is defective. These strips do not work at all. August 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not a reliable oroduct I have had light weight pictures that did it exceed the weight limit for the product used. I have used several types of command products in different areas of my home. These were hung up 10 months ago and 4 of them have fallen within the past 2 weeks and broken the frames. Also damaging a picture of a deceased loved one. One of the pictures was a canvas picture and it broke the outer framework of the picture. I wanted to avoid holes in my walls by using the command products. But they didn't work as promised. July 24, 2016
