Product Overview

The Gardner Bender GFCI outlet tester has been ergonomically designed for today's electrical professional. This unit plugs into any standard 120 V outlet and indicates the wiring condition of the outlet. The GFI-3501 also has the ability to test any outlet protected by a ground fault receptacle to ensure proper interruption operation. With charts on both sides of the unit, any user can quickly identify which of the six wiring conditions is indicated by the integrated neon lamps. Test any GFCI outlet, standard outlet, or extension cord.

  • Tests for seven conditions: ground fault interruption, open ground, open neutral, open hot, hot/ground reverse, hot/neutral reverse, and correct wiring
  • Tester trips GFCI between 6 - 9 ma
  • Succession of yellow and red lights provides indication of circuit status or specifies wiring errors

You would want an AFCI tester for arc fault.

There are many testers that specifically test arc fault outlets. Simply search for Arc Fault Testers and a few different options will pop up for you. Currently Gardner Bender and Sperry Instruments does not offer that type of tester.

Answer: 
1 clam is what you see it in on the shelf, but when it's shipped it would come 5 to a box or 5 clams to a master.

This usually means that there is a bad connection somewhere in the circuit you are testing. Check to make sure that all appliances have been disconnected and test again.
