Customer Questions & Answers

can you change the bulbs on these when they burn out?

Asked by: mo
No, replace the puck light, but being an LED they should last a long time

Can they be hard wired to a switch or dimmer? Can you connect 2 sets together?

Asked by: flipper331
Yes, they do come with a switch in the power cord now. But the wire is really too small in size to connect to a wall switch. I don't think they would work on a dimmer because of the diver. You can not connect two set together as each set uses it's own driver.

3-Light Black LED Puck Light Kit is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice, bright LED lighting These lights were just what I had been looking for. I needed good lighting above two desks in a built-in workspace. I was set on LED but had not found lights bright enough to suit me. These have no dimmer, but that is not an issue for my situation. Otherwise, they seem similar to the Hampton Bay lights with almost identical lumen and temperature (light color) ratings. They have a pretty low profile if you choose to surface mount them. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out when I was ready to install that I could flush mount or recess them. The mounting ring snaps off and tabs will retain them in the hole you make. The instructions tell you to "drill a 2.64 in. round hole." Perhaps your HD will be different, but i don't think you'll find a hole saw that size on the shelf. I was lucky enough to already own a 2-5/8" hole saw (2.625"). It was a tight fit, but it worked. I bought two sets, so I have three lights over each three foot workspace for plenty of light. The power cord is about 5 feet long and each light plugs into a small box at the end of the power cord. Each light has about a 3 foot cord, so you could span about 6 feet total if you went 3 feet one way then three the other and a light in the middle. I'm not crazy about the in-line switch, but I have not really seen any sets with much better options. I will have to get creative to figure out a way to make a box type or mountable switch. Overall, I am very please with the lights and would not hesitate to buy them again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well but dims a bit with time. The light set is now about two years old and three individual LEDs in one "puck" light no longer illuminate (five LEDs per puck). At installation they were very bright, but have all dimmed significantly. Interestingly, if one of the pucks are removed, the others brighten significantly suggesting a marginal power supply. I'll buy another set, though, using one to replace the burned out puck and keeping two in reserve..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from short life Switch went bad in 6 months still trying to replace has 3 year warranty. Somebody help ! !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Power cord too short Power cord is too short to reach outlets installed above cabinets (which is typical for todays kitchens). Five feet would have been enough in a few places had the on/off switch not been right in the middle of the cord (switch too thick to fit between cabinets and unusable if it could fit). The fact I could not even install it is why I rated poor ... other factors don't matter at that point. I consider the value poor because I did find something on line at about half the price with a much longer line between puck and connector (6 to 8 feet) which worked well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice Luminosity - Everything else is horrible Got these to illuminate a bookshelf, and at first I was impressed with their brightness. However the cord length coming off the pucks ended up being way too short for my application (there's only 30" of useable cord coming off the puck). If the cords coming off the lights had been 3 inches longer, I would have been fine... Or maybe not, while the three inches would have made them useful, what surprised me the most about these lights is they get blazing HOT, like 70's Christmas tree light hot. I thought the whole purpose of LED lights is that they consume very little power, and therefore should easily be cool to the touch, but not these. I would be very wary of putting them in a confined space.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bad cord switch I, like many others had issue with lights blinking and dimming. After fiddling with inline cord switch I went back to the electrical dept and bought a heavier duty cord switch and light work perfectly now. Others have reported unhooking one light to keep them working but I believe the switch is the issue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chinese junk The first set flickered and blinked upon installation, we returned them and got another set. The second set worked fine for about a month, now it flickers too. We figured out that it flickers less if you unplug one of the lights, but that's not a permanent solution. Hint: When Home Depot starts dropping the price on something, it's because it's junk and doesn't sell. These used to be $40, then $30, now $25. Just wait, before long they'll be free, and they still won't be worth it. 30 years professional contractor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright Little Lights This little 3 pack of LEDs packs a huge punch. I installed them on the wall as a mirror surround for my wife's vanity and they work perfectly. Easy to install, no wires to strip or connect, just plug and go. And not too many messy thick cords everywhere either! Great design, thin cords all routed and tucked right behind the vanity mirror. The one feature it lacks is a dimmer or at least a couple different brightness settings. Not a deal breaker for me though, as we just need bright light for doing makeup. I was also surprised at how warm the light is considering they're LED...not harsh fluorescent white at all. Try 'em out!
