I thought this would be a great idea to get some light to my kitchen.
But now I figure out it is a lot more complicated and the wires create a mess which you will see later in your kitchen. The switch has to be installed by yourself into the existing wire. So basically you have to cut into the wire. Since I don't know which one, I probably won't do it.
The light is okay but I think I will return this product to Home Depot.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Scieducator Suitable replacement for built-in puck lights
My built in puck lights (fitted into drilled holes rather than surface mounted in a wall unit) have the same number in the glass cover, (TLF FGG032 UV) so I had reason to believe that these could be used to replace a light which would no longer accept the prong on one side of the Xenon G8 bulb.
Screw off the cover ring (black plastic ring with glass insert), then remove the two small phillips screws which are holding the reflector. When they are removed the base of the fixture for surface mounting can be removed / discarded and the remaining assembly matched my built-in lights. To install, clip off the wire about six inches from he fixture and splice them to the power wires in place of the original light.
This kit is obsolete and overpriced in that it still includes fiery hot, short lived, worthless xenon lights. LED's are available that run cooler, last 4 to 5 times as long and they pay for themselves in about one year at my usage and electricity rates. If it weren't for the frequent changing of the xenon bulbs the original fixture probably would not have failed.

The light themselves are decent, but the mounting hardware is a joke. The screws provided are too short to really bite into the bottom of a cabinet. I ended up going back to the hardware store and buying double stick tape, hopefully it will hold overtime.

I had already installed these under my new kitchen cabinets so it is always easier installing something the second time. Actually it was pretty easy. The instructions were weak but if you have a little electrical knowledge and common sense you can figure it out. The store employee told me that there is an equivalent led replacement bulb and the halogens burn out fairly quickly. My original seven lights in the kitchen are rarely used as is the case with these that I put in a china cabinet I built in the dining room and none have failed yet. I installed light molding around the bottom edge of the upper cabinets and hides the fixtures from view. Highly recommended for a good finished look. My local store did not stock the light molding but you can find online or Cabinets To Go. There are some You Tube videos on how to make your own.

Purchased the set of 3 puck lights about month ago to replace existing set in
display cabinet. Very easy to install --- looks and works perfectly.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sonny Poor construction. very flimsy!
The control dial is very flimsy and breaks easily. Worse, the only way to get a new one is to buy an entire new kit.
The wiring is very short and can barely fit under most cabinets.
