Wanted a light for under my new counter I installed, the lights were to bright , on the back side of the lens and outside cover I placed two layers of blue scott towels cut to the size of the lens, worked just wright, The lights do not seem to heat up, I have had them on for hours, My thought , if I have a problem take them out .also harded wired a outlet in the studs in cabinet with access hole in back side ,wire to lights is low voltage 12 volts , if wire is to short do what you have to do, do not short it out!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dave Works well but dims a bit with time.
The light set is now about two years old and three individual LEDs in one "puck" light no longer illuminate (five LEDs per puck). At installation they were very bright, but have all dimmed significantly. Interestingly, if one of the pucks are removed, the others brighten significantly suggesting a marginal power supply. I'll buy another set, though, using one to replace the burned out puck and keeping two in reserve..

This little 3 pack of LEDs packs a huge punch. I installed them on the wall as a mirror surround for my wife's vanity and they work perfectly. Easy to install, no wires to strip or connect, just plug and go. And not too many messy thick cords everywhere either! Great design, thin cords all routed and tucked right behind the vanity mirror. The one feature it lacks is a dimmer or at least a couple different brightness settings. Not a deal breaker for me though, as we just need bright light for doing makeup. I was also surprised at how warm the light is considering they're LED...not harsh fluorescent white at all. Try 'em out!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Anthony Power cord too short
Power cord is too short to reach outlets installed above cabinets (which is typical for todays kitchens). Five feet would have been enough in a few places had the on/off switch not been right in the middle of the cord (switch too thick to fit between cabinets and unusable if it could fit). The fact I could not even install it is why I rated poor ... other factors don't matter at that point. I consider the value poor because I did find something on line at about half the price with a much longer line between puck and connector (6 to 8 feet) which worked well.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Paul Short Wires
The instructions say to install the lights a minimum of 12 inches apart which leads me to believe they can be installed further apart. This is absolutely not the case because the puck wire is short. The instructions say an extension cable is available but it is not sellable online or in the store and you have to call Home Depot customer service team. I installed one light centered under each of my cabinets and the puck wires won't reach the connection box included in the kit.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JackBHandy Nice, bright LED lighting
These lights were just what I had been looking for. I needed good lighting above two desks in a built-in workspace. I was set on LED but had not found lights bright enough to suit me.
These have no dimmer, but that is not an issue for my situation. Otherwise, they seem similar to the Hampton Bay lights with almost identical lumen and temperature (light color) ratings.
They have a pretty low profile if you choose to surface mount them. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out when I was ready to install that I could flush mount or recess them. The mounting ring snaps off and tabs will retain them in the hole you make. The instructions tell you to "drill a 2.64 in. round hole." Perhaps your HD will be different, but i don't think you'll find a hole saw that size on the shelf. I was lucky enough to already own a 2-5/8" hole saw (2.625"). It was a tight fit, but it worked.
I bought two sets, so I have three lights over each three foot workspace for plenty of light. The power cord is about 5 feet long and each light plugs into a small box at the end of the power cord. Each light has about a 3 foot cord, so you could span about 6 feet total if you went 3 feet one way then three the other and a light in the middle.
I'm not crazy about the in-line switch, but I have not really seen any sets with much better options. I will have to get creative to figure out a way to make a box type or mountable switch.
Overall, I am very please with the lights and would not hesitate to buy them again.
