Rated 5 out of 5Â by Toby77 Awesome recessed lighting!
We first installed these Commercial Electric 3 in. White Recessed Gimbal Kit lights in our small foyer and loved them so much that we are now installing them throughout the house!

They were very easy to install! They give off more light than I thought! We installed them as outdoor feature lights in the soffit vents. They light up the house and make it look like a high end feature! The one negative comment I would make is that when the light bulb goes out, they don't explain how to change it. That being said I have no idea what the longevity of the bulb will be. Hopefully long!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by KenN Update to earlier post
This is an update to the previous post I made. I now give it a 5 to balance the 1 I gave it the first time. Several good things came out of the post. First the manufacturer of the light contacted me three times about how to improve the product and the instructions. Second I climbed up into the attic to find out why I had so many problems The information gained follows.
1. The three clips do not slide well across a drywall joint, they catch and bend (I had 10 out of 11 holes next to joints). After the hole is cut stick a finger into the attic and feel 1 ½â all around the hole. If there is a drywall joint it needs to be soothed or filled. If the clip does nor slide up and snap into the catch smoothly check the attic side of the ceiling for a rough surface and correct it.
2. The hole size is very important, the instructions state âThe hole's diameter should not exceed 3 ¼â. The template included is 3 ¼â and when traced to the ceiling it is larger than 3 ¼â (Donât use a sharpie) use a sharp pencil. Don't cut on the line, cut inside the line, leaving the line plus a little ceiling. I cut the last several using a 3 1/8â circle and left the line but had to taper the top on the hole on opposite sides, at the side with the electrical box arm and the opposite side as the body crown rotated through. The smaller finish ceiling opening allows the tabs to seat well against the ceiling without sliding off when light is not exactly in the center of opening. Making a good installation.
With these pointers you should have a good installation.
I think these are very nice looking lights when installed.

I had to have these professionally installed because I added four of them to every bedroom in a six bedroom house, with dimmer switches and such. I also added two or more of them in each closet and about ten of them in a game room. It was just too much for me to attempt myself. My installer said that after the first two, it became quite easy and he's even added a few to his house after he saw the effect it had in my house. We installed a light in all corners of each room, about a foot and a half away from the walls. The game room required more. All on dimmers and aimed at the wall of art on the walls. It's a beautiful effect and seriously improved the look of the rooms. Couldn't recommend it enough. to change the bulbs you just pull the whole unit away from the ceiling, snap in a new bulb and put the unit back into the ceiling. Easy as pie. AND I can buy replacement bulbs at Kroger - love that.
