ELIMINATE RADIO STATIC WITH THIS DIMMER SWITCH
I had to install a dimmer switch, because I installed 6 of these can lights in my dinning room.
We needed more light, because just the ceiling fan light, wasn't enough light.
Well these definitely solved that problem, but now it was way to bright.
I had to install a dimmer switch to reduce the lighting so I purchased a Lutron (027557000086) LED CFL compatible dimmer switch, all my radios were buzzing.
Was told it was probably a faulty switch, and to replace it with another one, and bring the other one back for refund.
After installing the second one, all my radios were still buzzing.
Called the main office to talk to the technical department, and they told me that there was only one dimmer switch that was compatible with these lights.
Lutron 300W dimmer (CTELV-303PR-WH)
Skew # 0 27557 83007 2
Installed this, and no static noise whatsoever.
Hope this information helps, before you have to go through all the running back and forth trying to get this problem figured out.

Super easy to install, I bought 6 of these lights bulbs and also six 4" can fixtures to replace my kitchen tube lighting. So far they have been installed and working for 3 months, and I have not had any issues. I do not have them on a dimmer, just a regular on/off 3way switch. They were a little bit brighter then I expected, but my wife and I have grown like it now, just took a few days to get use to them. Also very impressed with the energy savings. We have them on for about 3-5 hours per day, and I have not experienced a failure yet. I did buy two more just incase one of them does fail. I was not happy about the upfront cost of the light bulbs, I think HD or Commercial Electric could lower the price due to I had to buy 6 of them at over $30 each just to cover my project, and with the possibility of one or more failing ended up buying 8 total.
There is a slight delay of maybe 1/2 of a second before they come on once the light switch is flipped, but I am not worried about that, and I really don't even notice it anymore. Once they come on they are bright, and there is no warm up, that some bulbs in the past I have tried have.
I would buy these again and recommend them to a friend or family member.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OCGrumpa Replacement for Incandesent Spots Used with Lutron Dimmer
I used three of these to replace 50W Phillips halogen flood spots over a fireplace.
They are considerably brighter than what they replaced.
I quickly realized I needed a dimmer. Bought one, only to find it DOA on install. Went back to HD and purchased a Lutron Maestro MACL-153MH-WH. I then read reviews here was a bit offset by some reviews listing problems with dimmers in general when used with these lights. The Lutron site has a list of dimmers and lights which are compatible.. this pairing wasn't on the list.
I decided to try the dimmer anyway, and am glad I did. Works perfectly (with only three lights vs. the required four minimum someone else mentioned.. could be this is a different dimmer?
Time will tell on the life span of these lights. My quality and value rating is based on very limited time in place. I like them well enough to buy two more for use over the kitchen sink without a dimmer.
Lastly, if you buy the same dimmer, it might be worth a visit to the Lutron site. This dimmer is programmable and the instructions are on their web site. The default settings worked for me, but the dimmer can be programmed to work differently. By default, it turns on immediately, goes back to your previous dimmer level. Shut off is a 1-2 second dim to black vs. instant off. Nice touch if you like that setting.

Contractor installed two in our bathroom. That was 18 months ago...
One has already failed. At an average of 10 hours a day (and that's being generous) the fixture lasted about 5500 hours.
After reading other posts regarding the 3 year warranty, I'd like to know what Home Depot will do for us. Obviously I don't have the receipt so am I stuck having to buy another one? Or replace both with something else?

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Travelingelms Great lights but a little too bright
I have 28 in the my house, just bought a few more because theyre expensive so I buy a few every few months. I'm almost done and so far it's been 1 year and they're working fine. they're very bright and they're all installed w dimmers so I usually have them dimmed majority of the time. I wish they could dim even more.

Bought 12 of these. Initially ,delay when switching on was only a second or two. Now after two weeks delay is up to ONE minute, and then they do not all come on at once!! Tried numerous dimmer switches but still the same problem.
Tried a Halo 4" in the fittings and that was fine,so new wiring was good.
This has cost me a lot of money in visits with an electrician to troubleshoot.
I will be returning them and replacing them either with Halo LED or low energy.
NOT the standard I expect from Home Depot products.

Just finished remodeling my kitchen and thought about 6" (holes too big) and 3" (not enough light) and finally decided to pick up the 4" pieces. Easy to install, just the light I need.
