Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by tbmhansen Excellent product and easily adaptable to retrofit already existing fixtures.
I have used these on many different occasions and they are a breeze to install. Whether it be for new construction or retro-fitting a pre-existing fixture. Very Light and this allows for a variety of mounting options. Very functional and cost effective even for the most novice of DIY's.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by lee Great for the cost
It's really out of the box ready for remodel or old construction. There is no lip on the can so it comes with cheap clips to slide on the front so that the clips on th side of the can will pin to the drywall. Be careful not to cut the hole to wide. The pattern is a little large for the remodel method of install. The instructions are not the greatest. But for the price it can't be beat.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HomeownerDE Very nice and affordable light kit
This kit comes with everything you need to do a remodel. Simply cut a 5" hole in the ceiling, run your wires, hook everything up to the junction box on top and pop it in the hole. 4 brackets keep the fixture secure. Very easy to install. It comes with a white baffle trim. If you don't like white, then spray paint it a different color. If you're doing new construction you will need to purchase the hanger bars separate which is used with the square plate you see in the picture. I honestly don't know why they just don't sell the square plate with the hangers. I can't see any other reason you would need it, I threw mine in the garbage. I agree with the feedback that you shouldn't use the template included with the kit. The hole would be a little too big. I just used the drywall hole cutter that I bought at HD, set it to 5 in and within 30 seconds I had my perfect hole. Make sure you have wire nuts and strain reliefs for 1/2 knockouts, because it's not included.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Butch easy way to save energy
I use them with led lights and they are extremely easy to wire individually or in groups and work extremely well. I use 6.5 watt leds in them and have now installed over 30. The first batch I got had trim rings that didn't work very well on fiberglass tile but the new ones have a much better design that works great. I use a new, cut extension cord to wire them and simply install a duplex plug in the ceiling for them. That way it is easy to hook several up on one switch which can even be a dimmer. I would only use led bulbs this way because even with 6 hooked up in a group you are only putting 50 watts in the line.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by akgriffith Don't use template
I bought 12 of these for a remodel project. They are a great value and easy to install. The only issue I had was that the template was a bit to big. After the 1st one I just used the actual fixture as a template and things went much smoother. Make sure the hole you cut is just large enough to fit the fixture.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by DrewL Not the best quality, but works
The product is very low-priced considering it comes with everything you need for installation (housing, electrical, baffle) and it looks great. The price does also mean that the parts are cheap and not durable at all. When the bulb burned out and I tried to remove it, the entire lamp holder bent and broke off the housing. Replacing it was not easy since it is no longer sold in stores and I had to pay for shipping. If it breaks again, I will probably replace with a different product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Matt Great deal
I now have almost every ceiling fixture on the first floor switched out to these can lights. They look good, work well and you can't beat the price. The installation is very easy, but don't mess around with electrical if you don't know what you're doing. If you have an out of date fixture, this is the perfect replacement as long as you're in between floors without insulation.
