Answer:
No you cannot. It is all one piece with the ends soldered and wrapped to the connector. I suppose you could cut the wire, strip and splice together if you really had to.

Answer:
The ends are not supposed to come off. Preferably you should drill a pass through hole wide enough to push the end of the connector through. If that is not feasible, cut he wire, splice it back and reconnect using electrical connectors or electrical tape.

A 20 watt transformer kit recommends a max. 8' of "light strip". If I cut cut the 8' in half and add a 6' connector is this still 8' or now 14' total.

It's not clear in the instructions if the 20 watt kit will work when you add the additional 6' connector.

Answer:
This item is for low voltage tape light. Not recommend for puck lights. However, if the wire is the same size as the wire on low voltage puck lights, you potentially could "patch" in the wire to extend the needed length. Make sure you do it right as you will void any certifications or warranties.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Instructions are a bit misleading - but product works once you figure out the correct procedure The connectors require that the light strip have the plastic taken off to expose the copper conductors. This is much easier said than done, but after a few tries it can be accomplished, However, the picture in the instructions shows the removed "hump" of plastic facing away from the "Connector Plug's" mental prongs in the final application. This is not the way it works. To make a good connection one must have the newly exposed copper conductors facing the "Connectors" metal prongs. Two pictures have been attached. One showing the "wrong" way to position the light strip in the connector. The other shows the "correct way" to position the light strip in the connector before closing the lid. June 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does what it's supposed to... Not much to say really. It's an extension with connectors at each end. Very useful in allowing you to use one LED strip to get the longest possible run, as in over a range top microwave and such. You do need to cut back a bit of the LED strip in order to install these (so that the contact is exposed) but it was easy to do. Just wished they would sell these in the store along side the LED light itself. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wiring extensions Have used the LED wiring extensions successfully, however, the procedure required to connect is very tedious August 2, 2016
