Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by petej Great recessed light product
This was my first recessed lighting project and it went so smoothly that I am planning out a few more rooms. The cans are great quality, easy to work with, and stay flush with the ceiling. I really like that there is room in the can for the electrical cable connections, and having a push module for the wires is great as well. Definitely a great product especially for the price. I used LED lights with these on a dimmer switch and everything is working perfectly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mike I love how easy it is to install these fixtures.
just upon opening the box the packaging is done perfectly. The quality of each fixture is terrific and they are very easy to install. I use them on every job and even in my own home.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by jmwhite Light Socket Screw (E26) Rivet Sometimes Breaks
Spec.say the bulb size is PAR 30 (3 3/4 " dia). When I use an Ecosmart ECO-FD6, sometimes the light socket breaks free of the rivet that secures the screw socket to the ceramic base. When this happens the light no longer can be turned on.
I believe the reason is the Ecosmart ECO-FD6 bulb assembly is over two times the torque of an ordinary BR or PAR 30 bulb. The diameter of the Ecosmart ECO-FD6 is 7 3/8 " vs. 3 3/4 " for a PAR 30 (about 2 times the torque).
The Ecosmart light fixture has to be flush to the ceiling surface, so the tenancy is to try to screw in the Ecosmart ECO-FD6 more than the screw socket rivet can handle. So far I broken 2 sockets out of 16.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AdamUTAH Very good design, just as good as the pricey ones.
I am glad to see that they put in the PUSH IN wire connectors. You don't even need wire nuts anymore. I just put up a video of me installing it if you are curious to see how it is done. I cant complain about this it works perfect.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by abdga Easy to install, both mechanically and electrically
I have installed 16 of these recently in my kitchen and room over the garage. Decide if you need the airtight version or not due to any HVAC loss concerns (there is a moderate cost difference). The biggest installation challenges will be to ensure that you have no obstructions above -- take your time confirming, and dealing with drywall dust depending on your hole cutting method. I ended up taping my shop vac collection hose to the body of my drill while using a 6" hole cutting "bit."
Electrical connections are fast with the push/insert style connectors. Mechanical fastening takes all of 20 seconds to rotate and lock the spring steel fastening clips.
For the bulbs, I did two different styles. In kitchen I used the 65W equivalent EcoSmart modules which have the trim ring integrated. For the room above garage, I went with trim ring baffles ordered online (Home Depot online is several dollars less per trim ring than in store if you have schedule flexibility to wait on shipping) coupled with a Cree BR30 style 65W equivalent bulb. This combination method is several dollars less per light if you have a lot to do.
Overall a rewarding project based on how much better the room lighting is in both rooms.

These cans have three retractable flanges that you push out of the can and then down against the inside of ceiling dry wall. Then you push the inside-the-can part of the flange upward. Initially everything worked well. 3 months later a bulb burned out. I found that an entire can had slipped down out of the ceiling about a quarter of an inch. All three flanges had slipped back into the can. I looked on the Home depot site and someone had asked a question about loose flanges. I went back and checked the other cans that had been installed at the same time at least one flange was pushed back into each can and two had two flanges in. I pushed all of the flanges back up. I used a dowel and a rubber mallet to try and get it up tight. Since then I went back to Home depot to see if they could give me any help I sent twice midweek in the afternoon and could get no one to help Each time I was told that the one HD employee I could find that he was the only person on duty and he had 6 people ahead of me (8 the second time). One flange was loose.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by John Inexpensive can that works!
As an electrician, I've used these on side jobs and in my own home. You can't really beat the price and they do the same thing any other more expensive can does. Installed properly it sits flush with the ceiling, you may have to remove the bottom part of the clips if you're hole is cut tight but it's easy to remove and insert once the can is in the hole.
Most recently used these with the LED screw in bulbs with a plan white baffle trim in a seven figure house and they came out great. Anyone complaining about these cans must have installed wrong.
