Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MarkD Design flaw in this 6" plastic light trim
The light trim was shower rated, easy to install, and not 'too dim' like others have mentioned. Most trims call for a 40w bulb max, so that can be expected.
My major problem was with the design of the plastic trim. It has two notches on either side near the inside spring, that when the light is turned on, shines through the exterior 6" round trim. You will see two bright lines shine through either side of your trim when the light is on. It's not noticeable when the light is off, but looks very cheap when the light is on. I replaced it with the 6" brushed nickel, which has a metal trim, and the light doesn't shine through the trim. We'll keep that one, but would have liked to have a white option.

After 15 years, the shower bulb burned out. When I removed this ring the plastic ears crumble where the mounting springs were attached. Reading the other reviews of the same SKU # ring, I was somewhat hesitant to buy this ring. But I did buy it and then replaced the heavily frosted and coated glass lens with the old deep-dish lens. It fit perfectly and lights the shower well. I also put a CFL bulb in the can, expecting less heat and perhaps longer life for the plastic.

I purchased this to put a light in a shower. It looks good but did not put out enough light no matter what bulb I tried. I believe the frosting is too heavy. I finally returned it and purchased Commercial Electric 6 in. Recessed White LED Trim-item number 126878. It is more money but puts out a lot more light.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Stevay2005 Easy install; good style; but dims light too much for my taste
Just mounted this trim when I broke the original "contractor special" trim plastic after 13 years in the shower. That was not a flush lens, instead it dropped about 1" below the trim which (to me) looked cheap and dated. This new trim installs easily as size is perfect (as expected). The trim is actually off-white and doesn't match the freshly painted white ceiling. Not a terrible contrast, but not what I intended. Perhaps I'll paint the trim whiter when I get some time. Worse than the off white trim color however is the lens is deeply and solidly frosted. Although this effectively diffuses the light and there's no way you'll see the (ugly) bulb or get any glare off of brightwork typical in a bathroom, it seriously dims the 60W (max) incandescent bulb. I would have preferred opaque to hide the bulb but no/low frosting to allow all 60w that I'm burning to flow through. I would still recommend due to excellent fit, price and this will never rust or corrode in a moist environment.
