Waited a couple of weeks because everything works on the first day. This is a perfect light for a small closet. Since it's a storage closet, there are shelves up to the ceiling and I am forever standing on a ladder to reach things and don't have to worry about getting burned from a hanging light as I did until this came in. It is close to ceiling and stays cool. Just keep in mind that it is SOFT lighting but bright enough to see what you want and may take a second or two to light. I first bought a new bulb (somewhere else) that instantly blew which meant that I needed the ballast. Home Depot is the only one I know that carries the ballast (actually comes WITH the light) and for just about the same price as the bulb alone! The ordering process for free in store pick up was effortless even for such a small purchase. Do yourself a favor and just go ahead and automatically replace the ballast when you replace the light (mine originally lasted 20 years). Thanks Home Depot!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LAKat Great Product!
I have used one of these in my closet for about 20 years now. They are great -- provide excellent bright lighting at a fraction of the cost of a regular light bulb. They are easy to use and replace and I have probably only had to replace the bulb twice in 20 years. They also look more attractive than just a bare light bulb.

Got mine in September of 2013 use several and they are heavily used none have burned out yet great product for the price. Will probably buy more since at some point I'm sure Home Depot will stop carrying since everyone else has long ago.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by scpanish defective connector, have to return
Nice product, quality control needs some work. The connector between the ballast and the bulb was defective, making the connection unreliable. When the light worked, the color temperature was nicely warm and the output was good, likely the equivalent as stated to a 75w incandescent. The ballast is a "slow on" type, likely magnetic. There is little or no 60 cycle flicker. This would be a good value if the connector worked. I am recommending it since you can return it if defective.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by HowardP Almost, but not quite a replacement
The Circline T9 CFL bulb met all the specified parameters as the old GE bulb it was replacing, but I simply could not screw it into the thread of the old overhead fixture that was to be its home. It works fine in the socket of a table lamp. Inspecting both bulbs, I noticed a difference in the contact point tips on the two bulbs. The Circline is advertised on its package as a lamp replacement bulb, and the old GE bulb may have been designed specifically for overhead fixtures.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Leigh Exactly what I needed
This fixture is a 100% match for the one I needed to replace AND it's not sold anywhere else. I wish it was available in-store so I could have replaced the unit that burned out the same day, but ordering online was easy and the fixture arrived for my in-store pickup about a week earlier than expected.

The light was easy to install, just screw it in. It has a 2 second delay and lights the area well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by VoigtRA Good Product, great price
While the ad describes this as a bulb, it's really a complete fixture (built in ballast and standard screw socket). It's not a high quality unit, but I've owned similar units in past that have lasted 10-15 years as closet lights with daily use. They kick out much better (brighter, more even) lighting than a spiral CFL for ceiling lights. This type of fixture generally goes for $15 online, so home depot is offering quite a deal. I bought 3 and another fixture to get free shipping.
