I have an existing hardwired fluorescent fixture under the cabinets which I would like to change to this product but already have a hardwire with no receptacle. I would like to keep the transformer in the cupboard above so as to see no visible wires.

Answer:
The transformer is the only part of the set-up that can be hardwired to 120 volts. You can cut off the plug and connect wires to existing house wires making sure you keep the polarity correct. Ribbed wire is neutral (white) and smooth wire is common (black).

Answer:
It could be but you will have to make sure of your voltage when connecting these lights to the existing circuit. These require 120 volts ac and some hard wired installations have a ballast or transformer bring the voltage down and some converting to DC so you should put a voltmeter on the source to insure you are using the correct voltage.

Sadly this is a question best suited for the manufacturer. I had the same dilemma and decided to simply wire in a second transformer and light strip for my last set of cabinets. The transformer has its capacity marked on the tag but there is very little to tell me what the current draw for the lights are; so rather than risk overloading the transformer I felt it safest to wire in a second one.

Answer:
Instructions state the power supply is rated for a single 8' LED strip only. I found it would operate an additional 8' strip with no loss of brightness but felt the load would be too much over time. The safest way is to follow the recommendation or purchase a larger power supply.

I installed mine under kitchen cabinets and they brightly light the countertop space under the cabinets as well as the whole countertop space. I bought wire tie sticky pads at an electrical distributor and small tie wraps to install. It worked very well and they aren't visible standing and looking toward the cabinets. If you install these I would expect ten years or more life out of them. Read Less

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great when installed Would have rated five stars, but had to return and get a new package due to it missing the connector to splice ribbon together. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AMAZING AND POWERFUL Purchased these LED Strip LIghts for a Project I was doin for my girlfriend for Christmas, shes always wanted a custom giraffe vanity. so instead of the typical balloon style bulb I researched and came across these. The feature that attracted me to them was the fact that they were dimmable and the strips were flexible. lets just say it came out amazing and she fell in love with the outcome immediately. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice undermount LED This light worked perfect for the bottom of a bookshelf over a desk. It is plenty bright to light up the whole desk. It was very easy to trim to length and stick to the bottom of the shelf and connect the power supply. August 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by cutting led tape cutting the tape was a cinch. However, cleaning off the plastic to get the connector to close and latch was a real bear, even with a new Olfa blade. Had trouble getting good contact. July 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent for under kitchen cabinets This lights worked perfectly under our kitchen cabinets! There is only 3/4in space under the cabinets, but the lights are completely hidden and were really easy to install. My husband drilled holes through the cabinet to hide the cable and the dimmer switch. The dimmer is great for night lighting. The only small complaint is they are suppose to be warm led but I think they are more cool led, my husband likes the led cool but I would like them to look more warm. June 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked perfectly on my simple well fitted application. Worked perfectly on my simple well fitted application. My 8.5' shop bench riser was nicely lit. No cutting or angling the strip in any way, just used the hardware included to secure driver to under side of riser and plugged it in. Makes me want to explore more complicated implementations that others described having difficulties with. November 1, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Closet solution.. Ever wear a blue and a black sock? You thought you put black pants and they turned dark navy in the light. This strip around the inside of the closet frame solved the problem and could pick out a material choice of clothing. I do wish price was more competetive and/or supplied a longer light strip. May 20, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great if you don't need to use coupler, but... I used one of these for under cabinet lighting and really like it. Easy to install with the backing tape and nicely lights under the cabinet. I bought two more intending to connect for use in my garage. The couple does not fit and the instructions are not clear on how to properly install it. Further, no one at my Home Depot had any clue how this is supposed to work. I ended up returning them both, with one chopped up. In short, if you need 8 ' of lighting these are great, but forget it if you want to try and use the poorly design connector to turn a corner.
