Brushed Nickel 3-Light Vanity-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Light Great Price My wife is partial to brushed nickel and is very pleased with how these look. I am very pleased with their cost (less than $30), so I purchased two. My living room has switched outlets and I had a desk lamp connected to each outlet. This did not provide enough light, and I wanted to get rid of the tables with the lamps. It was easy to cut a hole in the wall about six feet above each outlet and drop a line to the outlet. I now have two lights on one wall in the living room and the desk lamps are gone. I use daylight bulbs with a color temperature of 5500K and a color rendering index of 93+. For the non-technical, this means that the lighting looks likes the middle of the afternoon and the light is suitable to differentiate colors, which is good for photography, sewing, and arts. The frosted glass included with the light fixture work great with these (from a color temperature perspective). They do a good job of dispersing the light without negative affect. I tried a few different bulb sizes, and for the bulbs that I use (I assume that I cannot tell you the brand), the 13 Watt and 19 Watt bulbs look and work great in the fixture. I can use a 23 Watt CFL, but it sticks a bit past the end of the glass and is visible. This is not that much of a problem, but the bulb is a bit bright to be sticking out the bottom. The lights that are fully out of direct view and dispersed by the frosted glass do not bother the eyes. This brings out an interesting point, you must mount this light with the bulb facing down. I do not know why this is, and I would have preferred if it faced up (and it would have allowed a larger bulb without any visibility of the bulb. Then again, with three bulbs, I don't need the larger CFL. Wiring the lamp is trivial. The wires in the lamp contain quick connect connectors. You simply push the correct wires into the connector, and the lamp is wired. This is the easiest lamp I have ever wired. When I installed the box in the wall, I was very careful with the first box to make certain that box was perfectly level. Then, I pulled the lamp assembly and found that you can level the light independently of the box in your wall. There are two two screws, and it is trivial. Absolutely brilliant. Step 1: Screw the mounting piece to the wall box. Step 2: Use a level to make certain that the mounting piece is level (and level if it if it is not). At this point, you want a helper... Really, you do. Step 3: Connect the ground wire and push the quick connect wires in place. This is easier with a helper to hold the light, but you can do it alone. Step 4: Screw the lamp fixture to the mounting piece. For this, I needed another person (wife) to hold the fixture in place so that I could get to the screws. I tried the first one alone, and found that I needed help. By this time, I had already connected the wires. I did not want to disconnect the wires, and I could not just put the fixture down because I had connected the wires. Do not get caught here. It is trivial with a helper. I needed a small ladder to see, and a second person to hold the fixture in place. Step 5: The light sockets are a porcelain. The glass goes over these, and there is a large porcelain nut that you screw over the light socket to hold the glass in place. This was very difficult for me to do with my large hands. My wife, however, had little to no difficulty with this step. When I did this myself, I held the piece in place, and I rotated the entire glass piece at the same time, and I was able to do this. My recommendation, however, is to just have someone with smaller hands screw that piece in place (if possible). So, I have two fixtures in a room, on the same wall, and they provide a lot of light. This was much easier than running a line all the way to the center of the ceiling. On the other hand, my wife was worried that she might want to occasionally turn off one of the fixtures <life is never easy>. To solve this problem, I drilled a small hole (about 1/4") at the 2:00 position (top right) and installed a micro-mini on/off toggle switch. I can turn each fixture on / off independently if I desire. Note: If you do not understand how to verify that the switch can handle the rated current (my switch is rated for about 8 times the current load, and 2 times the maximum rating on the fixture) and how to safely wire this, then do not do this. You can kill yourself and burn down your house. My point is that if you do understand how to do these things, it was a trivial enhancement. Pros: Great price. Easy to level. Easy to wire. Attractive. Three bulbs produces a lot of light. The frosted glass disperses the light and does not negatively affect bulb color. Cons: Requires two people to attach to the wall. Must install with bulbs facing down (as per instructions).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value We planned to completely remodel one of our bathrooms when we bought our home, but some of the items in there had to go now without waiting. One of those items was the vanity light. Obviously, we didn't want to spend a lot of money on a light that may only be installed for a year or two before being removed. We picked this light because it was inexpensive, but would be bright enough for everyday use. Now that we've had it for a while, it may not be replaced during the remodel process since it looks good and seems to be well built.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good Installation is a little bid harder than some other models because it has a tiny screw that has to go in the top of the fixture base. The problem is that if the ceiling is very high or near the ceiling it is difficult to get the tiny screw in. Also, the middle light pole is in the way of the screw hole making it even harder to attach. Another issue is that some of the lights may not be level with each other, that is, some of the lamps are a bit cock-eyed. Despite these complaints, the installation is pretty straight forward, it looks really good, and its a really good price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from looks nice but not as easy to install as some think! It is a beautiful fixture but not at all easy to install. I have changed many light fixtures out in my life and this was the hardest by far. Unless you have long narrow fingers it is very hard to get the top mounting screw into the hole. The elegant curved bars that are the stems of the lights are so close to the narrow part that you have to have a good magnetic screwdriver to even have a chance to get the screw in. Also, the same problem exists with trying to put the collars on that hold the glass. It is very tight and only someone with tiny fingers can get the thing screwed on without a lot of effort. I have to believe that the designer has never tried to install one of these before or he is a sadist idiot. In any case, after it is installed it is worth the agravation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from i am returning this light it is not expensive and its NOT made well the plastic attaching rings are molded to large and its pretty hard to get them to thread and tighten thats if you have tiny hands to fit inside . they get jammed because there is half a thread on each side and the are ridiculus to screw on . the the screw holes to attache the fixture are in line with top so if you have it close to the cieling again tiny hands .it was just to much trouble to install ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 Light Vanity This is a great fixture for the money! I looked at several sets at much higher prices and liked the design of this one the best. It was easy to install and the perfect size for a smaller bathroom. One hint, if you’re looking for it in the store (as I was) you won’t find it with the other fixtures. I found it off a ways in its own little section. I’m glad I kept looking!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute light I used these in our kids' bathroom and they are very cute. They were pretty easy to install and look very nice. I did notice that they look a bit different from the picture as the two outside lights are a bit more angled in toward the center light and not as straight as the picture. I still like them a lot and would recommend them.
