can this replace a 3 lamps dome fixture?

Asked by: davE
In terms of light output, yes. I would estimate light is equivalent to one 100 watt lamp, or 2 or 3 60 watt lamps.

How many light bulbs does this take?

Asked by: Lauren
This light does not use light bulbs. Its light source is LED's which come installed in the light. There is no way to change them

When the LED light does die - do you replace the whole light fixture or is there a way to just replace the LED?

Asked by: jwinks
yes you can buy another led bulb but at an electrical store special order. Then, if bulb does not work, it means that the ballast in the light is shot, You might want to buy another light especially if like me you invested buying another bulb for nothing.

Customer Reviews

Brushed Nickel LED Energy Star Flushmount is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 477.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked great while they worked. Bought two of these in the and installed them in the main floor bathrooms. The least used hall bath light failed at about 6 mos, flickering more and more. The master bath fixture lasted about another week but has started flickering and already has visible pitting/rust on the screw cap for the glass bowl. Would not recommend these, low quality parts and both failed in about 6 mos.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor product with questionable quality control I bought my first of these LED lights by Commercial Electric toward the beginning of the year and had it installed by a professional electrician to replace an old fixture that used bulbs. Unfortunately, just as other reviewers have noted, it began to flicker badly after only 4-5 months and had to be exchanged for an identical unit. The replacement fixture didn't fare any better, and failed just a few months after installation. At this point, I was advised to deal with the manufacturer, since it was now about 8 months since my initial purchase. I opted Hopefully, whoever's in charge of ordering these fixtures will take note of the growing number of negative reviews and will look into the lack of quality control for this poorly made product. I'd recommend choosing an alternate product if you want to spare yourself inconvenience and frustration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Looking and Very Bright Ceiling Fixture I am using this ceiling mounted fixture to replace an inexpensive one than was getting tired looking. The oil rubbed bronze finish is stylish, classically elegant and unobtrusive. The LED lights are very bright and of are a comfortable warm white color. The best part of this fixture is how easy it is to mount. Most flush mounted ceiling fixtures mount using two keyhole slots. This can be a real pain since you have to get the screws aligned and push the fixture over them without being able to see the screws. The mounting system on this fixture uses the center hole and a threaded rod. All you have to do is screw the rod into the mounting bar and then slide the fixture over the rod.

We moved into a home that had two of these recently installed. They both were constantly flickering, and I was forced to throw them in the garbage per Home Depot Rep's recommendation. They were both less than 2 years old, but since we weren't the original purchaser of the lights the 5-year warranty was no good without proof of purchase. The rep said flickering was a frequent problem with these, and that replacement is frequently done. I would much rather replace a light bulb every few years than replace a whole unit just as often. What a waste of materials and time...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked for six months then started flickering and flashing When we first installed this light, we were quite pleased. However, not even six months later, the light has started to flicker/flash and then go completely dark. Turning the light on and off may relieve the issue temporarily, but the relief is of shorter and shorter duration. There's no dimmer switch and the flickering does not correlate to any movement or load issues. Based on the % of 1 star reviews and another reviewer's comment that 12% of the units he bought turned out to be duds, I'd say this product has a ~10% failure rate. We're not going to get anywhere near 30 years out of this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from YOU WILL GET ABOUT 1 YEAR OUT OF THIS LIGHT BEFORE IT STARTS FLICKERING... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. ... YOU WILL GET ABOUT 1 YEAR OUT OF THIS LIGHT BEFORE IT STARTS FLICKERING... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. But I still give it 4 stars. Here's why: The light is cheap, it looks nice, it is easy to install, and it is very bright. Home Depot will honor the warranty and exchange it/refund it after a year, so just hang onto the box. When the light starts flickering, just throw it in the box, go to the store, and get a new one. In about the same time it takes to replace a bulb in a different light, you can re-install one of these. Easy. Not perfect, but a lot of bang for your buck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice decorative fixture! This lighting fixture has a very classy look when installed. The instructions for installing the light were very easy to follow and makes for quick installation. We added a medallion first before installing the light to cover the unpainted area left from the prior light fixture. The convenience of not needing to replace burned out light bulbs is a nice feature, and the life expectancy is 32 years. All in all I am very pleased with the quality and look of the light.

Two years later, two of them started a strobing effect which is maddening. I bought two new ones to replace them only because i don't want them to mismatch the rest of the house but i am still worried that more are going to fail soon. They look decent, and were relatively easy to install, but at this point, these do not seem to be a long term quality product...
