Answer:
Simply twist the oval end of the light tube. It looks like there's a little "lid" on each end. Turn them about a quarter turn and it pops off. Take out the AA batteries (4 total) and put in new ones.

Borlen, the instruction on battery replacement is non-existent. I should have seen that as a red flag. By now you've probably discovered that the caps at the ends of the light pop off. There are two batteries in each end. However, the design of these caps is so poor that the plastic prongs broke off as I was removing the caps; now they won't stay on. I'm returning the light to Home Depot. Too bad; this Read More

There are two batteries in each end. However, the design of these caps is so poor that the plastic prongs broke off as I was removing the caps; now they won't stay on. I'm returning the light to Home Depot. Too bad; this was a nice bright task light. Just what I wanted. I didn't know it was disposable. I hadn't even installed it yet. My experience is detailed in my review.

I love the lamp-I need it without the 30 minute feature and I would like a dimmer feature. Do you have anything that would fit my specs?

This is a little handheld thing about 7" long, not a big lamp, if that's what you were looking for.

I don't think so, didn't know there's a 30 minute shut off and why would you want to leave these battery powered lights on that long? The batteries wouldn't last long!

The directions specifically say that it can be installed with screws but not only does it NOT come with any screws but I cannot find any directions with the light or on your web sight how to actually install it. Can you give me some help, please? Like what size screws to use, etc.

Answer:
You can install the base with screws by removing the paper cover of the base. The light has a magnet which will connect with the base.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little task light I bought this replace one just like it that blew the bulb. I have it stuck on the bottom of a shelf above my laptop. Its bright enough for what I need

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for a soft, warm light. Love that it turns off by self. I have been DIY remodeling my kitchen. I have always wanted some form of lighting under my cupboards, but didn't want to fool with all the fun of hard wiring a light. This works perfectly and gives the room just enough light to see where your going in a dark kitchen, without turning on other lights. It's not a light you could sit and read a paper or do homework, but it does exactly what I had in mind. I am considering on going back to purchase a couple more for other parts of our home.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Light didn't last. Great light. Looks nice. Easy to use & install with or without screws. Without screws and just using the sticky tape works great. The light is substantial (weight). Takes only 2 AA batteries which I like. Batteries are super simple to replace. Giving this 2 stars only because the LED light actually wore out VERY fast. Don't know if this sat too long on the shelf before I bought it, but wouldn't think so. Never heard of LEDs actually wearing out. Tried brand new batteries - no luck so must be the bulb. I loved this but won't buy another one, sadly. Was used for my kitchen corner cabinet and hardly used it at all. One thing I liked is that I could remove it and use it in other places if I needed to, and it would easily "snap" back in with the strong magnet even though I hid it's base/holder around the edge of the cabinet so it wouldn't be in the way - couldn't see it but the strong magnet would easily "catch" it when I hold it up to the base.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little lights I bought these lights to put under my kitchen cabinets. The installation is easy, the look is sleek and the light output is just what I needed to light up those dark spaces.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LED Silver Wireless Linear Task Light Nice bright light but does not adhere/stick to under cabinet placement - it's just too heavy for the double-sided sticky pad that comes with the unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light it shine Perfect solution for under the counter and works as a flashlight in a pinch too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best wireless light we ever bought We bought 2 of these lights a year ago to go above window seat alcoves we had built. We kept them because: 1) they were bright and gave off enough light to light the whole window seat, 2) they are easy to install, 3) they are battery operated which is great when you need them in a spot you can't run electricity to, 4) the ability to change the 4 AA batteries was very easy (a light quarter turn on the end pieces). 5) We have also found that they have an automatic shut-off; we're not sure how long they stay on for, but at some point, they turn off on their own. 6) they are magnetic, so you can pull them off of the base and use as a flashlight, but are very easy to put back on to the base. We love them so much, we're going to get them for under the cabinets in the kitchen as well as some darker areas of our kids' playroom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great under cabinet light this battery light works wonderfully under our kitchen cabinets. The magnet mount makes it easy to remove for use as a temporary flashlight too. We have three of these lights in our kitchen. Make sure to replace batteries, or check regularly. This purchase was a replacement for one where the batteries leaked and the light no longer worked.
